Matt,  How the heck are Ya? Looking forward to seeing you at the GAF Muster in a few weeks. I have never seen58 cal. balls don't shoot all that well in the Zouave rifles unless just for plinking at short ranges.  If you are looking for accuracy order a good
58 cal Minie ball mold and cast your own or buy them.  I believe Dixie Gun Works still sells the molds, one of which is a light weight target bullet made specifically for the Zouave rifles and about any of the bullet companies should carry the bullets.
God Bless and shoot safe.

Try here:  http://www.logcabinshop.com/  They have cast .570 and .575 roundballs as well as Hornady .570 swaged balls.  You could also go to Dixie: http://www.dixiegunworks.com/, The possibles shop: http://www.possibleshop.com/ball-bullet.htm, Track of the Wolf: http://www.trackofthewolf.com/(S(dmpgxo3a5ii4llqxtimgedir))/categories/tableList.aspx?catId=2&subId=25&styleId=58&PageSize=25&Page=3, and a variety of other places.

Thanks Gentlemen.  I have looked at Dixie yes they have the stuff I am just not set up to make my own yet.

Fingers  those were the sites I was looking for I just couldnt remember the names.  Thanks for the refresher.

Larry  I have been doing good.  How have you been?  I am looking forward to seeing you again at the GAF muster.  I will have the Zouave, my military henry, and my multiple 58 Armies at the Muster.  It no fun to just shoot 2 guns Smoke and fire all the way.  See you in Nebraska.

I have to agree with Gripmaker.
I bought a mould for .58 round ball for my 2-band Enfield and no matter what thickness of patch and various amounts (and grades) of Holy Black, I couldn't get it to shoot with any degree of consistency.
Stick to the Minie bullet and experiment with that untill you find the right combo that suits your smokepole.
A good short range bullet is the Lee "Trashcan" and you can get various skirt thicknesses and depth of hollow base for many makes of Minie. I always double dip my castings when lubing, seems to work for me.
Trouble is...when I'm paid to do a job, I always carry it through. (Angel Eyes, The Good, The Bad & The Ugly)

Track of the Wolf has about every size ever made. And, they have really good prices.
