So Riot Earp ,
you or me , which of us gets it !!!!  Pocket change man , pocket change  ;D
The auction house is laughing all the way to the bank .  Just like I am at the price . Not on your best day .  :P
Cooooooooooool gun , but not for half a million , or a million  :-\  Big fat negative on that one .
Thanks for the cool picture though , but I think I am going to let you have this buy , this time .
I wonder if Donald Trump were to like Civil War Era guns if he'd pay that much ? Probably, then he'd sell it for twice that to someone else . He may wear a cat on his head but he is a shrude bussiness man . I think he'd look better in Calico Tom Cat colors though !
Thanks Riot Earp I needed a good laugh today  ;D Awsome picture !!!!! Great history even if its expensive as all get out . If it was Samuel Walkers, then maybe >>>>???????

I'm sure I've seen that initials cartouche on the butt on a repro!!! Are they sure it's not Uberti?????

Given the reputations involved in the authentication processes of a piece of this rarity - it's a safe bet to say they're sure...

A large number of reproduction revolvers are marked with cartouches, by the way, since they sell better to the buying public.

There are some neat close-up pics on this page:

The cylinder markings are still visible. And a cool, if politically incorrect, engraving.  ::)

Note the bright bluing that these guns had.

I looked at the engraving and it is very nice.  The bluing is very interesting too.  Colt did nice work back then.  You won't see that on any Uberti or Pietta.  Still a little pricey I think.

I was looking at the rest of the catalog too.  There is some interesting stuff in it.  Like the Dance revolver and the Augusta Works revolver right next to it.

Maybe next year. ::)

There Lugers are quite handsome too on a side note . They carry top of the line that's for sure .
If I hit the Lotto look out !!!!

Does anyone think that a "shooter" will buy this rarity??? This is gonna be acquired by someone with far too much money(can you have too much?) and squirreled away, never to see the light of day again, never mind a liberal dose of Holy Black!!!

I doubt that most of the firearms listed by that auction house will ever be shot again.  They are simply too rare, too expensive and too beautiful to run the risk.  Can you imagine loading up that Walker, cocking it and letting one go only to have the gun blow up?

Makes me shiver just to think of that.

Alabama,

Those Lugers were also under what I consider interesting stuff.  I want one. ;D  Although I would take a plain old Erfurt 9mm that has/has not been overstamped.  Meaning one of the more common ones out there.  I want a shooter.

Thats funny Ransom Gaer , I was just thinking the same thing about them thar Lugers . Although I would want the nice ones too just to have and look at , and of course fondle with white gloves on .
Although if I did buy that Walker I seriously doubt I would ever shoot it ? Well maybe once , but not likely , that steel is god knows how soft by now and who knows really if it was in a fire or near heat or too cold , who knows, too risky to tragically ruin that amount of history for mankind just because I want to shoot it once . Some dogs are just better left dead and alone . That Walker is certainly a museum peice and that is where it belongs really for all to enjoy looking at . JMHO
But , I would open a Museum around it if I bought it .  ;D

I'm proud to announce that I can now provide an new Kirst Konverter cylinder for this gun.  It should be a hoot to shoot at a match of the very well off. . . .

All kidding aside, the new 45 Cal Kirst Konverter cylinder for Walker Colts is now immediately available.

Let 'er flicker.

Hi Folks,

I enjoyed your comments about the newly discovered Walker that will be sold in our upcoming auction.  Thanks again for the comments about the great photography too, as I manage the photography for the company.  I can tell you that this is indeed a rarity and we're very excited about having the chance to offer this gun.  We sold one a few years ago for over $400K and it was not nearly as minty as this one is.  The cylinder scenes and markings are crisp and clear and the amount of blueing left on this gun is amazing.  JR Larue is the Chief Consultant for Julias and is one of the best with Colts.  Every indication is that this is the real deal.  Hope you all enjoy it.

Very nice, but the question to be asked, "CAN I SHOOT IT???"

I hope it sells well for ya. Its a nice piece of history! DM

I was hoping to attend this auction. But, alas, gas prices are too high.
