ok finally i decided to grab some scrap leather and test my border idea on it before attacking my project with the border.

i decided to use scrap cause i wasnt sure if my idea would work/look right.

after doing the scrap i decided to go ahead with this border.

here is the scrap. my project is not done yet. when its done i will show it off.

the border is the bike chain stamps from tandy leather.

my project is a sissy bar bag for my motorcycle

Ok, late nite.

i got the stamping done on the main body. took pic right after i got finished with stamping.

its now dyed and glued together. still have the lid to stamp and dye.
also have to sew it all together.

the basic measurments are 12" wide x 12" tall x 12" deep.
i hope to have this bag finished by saturday nite(tonite) so i can use it on sunday.

will post pics as soon as i get it finished

this is also my first bag ever so its taking me a little longer to design it.

Looks nice and even all the way across. Good work on that. The finished item will be fun to see. I made a small sissy bar bag one time. The hardest thing was figuring out how to mount it. Will yours bolt to the pad mounting bars or have a wrap-around strap?

i decided to mount it using a strap with buckle(like holding ur britches up) for the sissy bar.
i am using a loop on bottom that will slide over the luggage rack for added security.
this way i have 2 hold down points incase of heavy wind so the bag does not slide up and off of the sissy bar.

working on the lid now. hope to have done tonite
