While I am considering learning how to make beer, I discovered I am nearly out of my soap. While glycerin soap is incredibly easy to make, I still like to make lye soap. They call it "cold process" soap now because the word "lye" scares people. When I made it before, I got it from a place that sold bar soap at craft shows. They'd sell kits as novelties, but discontinued the kits about two years ago. I ordered two kits that year, made the soap, gave some of it away and used the rest.

And now I am on my last bar. I really didn't want to get into the pain/mess/involvement of buying the ingrediants, measuring stuff out and dabbling with recipes... I wanted a KIT dangit!

I went on a web search and found a place that had kits. Each kit made around 40 bars of soap and included in the kit were enough molds for about 12 bars. Huh? That didn't make sense, so I called them. What that place did was sell the customer the supplies, molds, and a book of recipes. The kit had enough supplies for several batches. Would still have to measure and mess with recipes. I didn't want that, I wanted one kit for ONE BATCH, Dang it!!

Frustrated, I called the original company in hopes that they might know someone who sold individual batch kits. To my relief and delight, they still had kits in stock. I now have three kits of lavender and three kits of almond soap on their way to me.

Soap, anyone?

Nope, no gas generator, not yet. That's a big part of my push to build the shed; right now, I have no place to store a generator. Once the shed is waterproofed and I can secure it, though, the generator will be at the top of my list.

Good thought, but no ceegar!

Thanks ST     I   need the coffee....We got the wind the lightening and the power outages but no rain here at the house.  at the barn 6 miles away it flat come down in buckets. yesterday went from 102 degress 30% humidity to 100 degress and 80/90% in just a couple hours. according to my IPS it's not going to be any better today either.
