They want to mess with daylight savings time, extending it past Halloween.

"Upton noted that the extension means daylight-saving time will continue through Halloween, adding to safety. "Kids across the nation will soon rejoice," said Upton, because they'll have another hour of daylight trick-or-treating. "

When I was a kid, NONE of us went trick or treating during daylight hours and we loved that daylight savings time ended right before Halloween, so it got dark earlier and we could head out!

I'm not much of a "farm" person.  I wake by the clock.  If the clock says six, I hit snooze and wait another half hour .  I go to bed by the clock too... sometimes too late, thanks to you folks!!!    

Basically what I'm saying is, yeah, there's the same amoung of sunlight in the day.  But to those who live by the clock, a clock that is regulated by daylight saving time makes for a longer day.
