Okay, you kept a straight face, but did you blush?
People like me are the reason people like you have the right to bitch about people like me.

Joyce (AnnieLee)

Nope, I don't blush about slobbering.

:D

AnnieLee, won't lie, but prolly won't tell when she does actually blush!

Morning folks, Coffee is ready.   'Magic writin box has been down a day or so, lost my picture files so will have to work on finding some new ones.'

I believe if Annie would quit slobbering the humidiy around here would get lower. Looks like a nice day, got lots to do.  Horses, mowin', shootin', cookin', fininsh the shootin' buggy. Later.

A cold front was supposed to move through here Friday night, bringing thunderstorms, needed rain, and a break in the heat and humidity.

It didn't happen.

We got some showers yesterday morning, but all they've done is crank up the humidity.

It's rough out there today.

Taking a break in the air conditioning,

By all means, take the time to cool down. Yes, the shed is important, but not so important to risk getting heat stroke or harming your health in other ways. Some time in the evening when it's not so oppressive would benefit you better, as long as you can avoid being carried away by the skeeters.............Buck 8) ::) ;)

Hey, y'all want to pick your brains a bit?

I have a navy/balck graniteware, white flecked coffee boiler, a 5 quart number, that I bought new about 25 years ago.  I stuck it in thre garage a few years back because it was just too big for anything I needed.

Pulled it out tonight and the edge of the lid is seriously rusted...not to where it's eaten away, but definitely packing a lot of crusty rust well into the metal.

How do I get it off without damaging the enamel surface any more and without poisoning myself and my family and friends.  Is it back underr the enamel already, and how do I kill it?

Does anyone still make these?

Thanks.

Joyce (AnnieLee)

Does it have a brand name anywhere on it, Forty Rod? There might be a name and model number on the bottom of it if there's no identifier on the body. I'll hunt if you can get a brand.

As for the rust, I'd try very fine steel wool and olive oil on the metal, avoiding the enamel. Del might have better suggestions.

I find no markings of any kind, inscribed, stamped, etched, nothing.  I seem to recall a paper label when I got it and I think it was a white horrizontal diamond pattern with red and black lettering.  If course, that was a LONNNNNG time ago and I can barely remember breakfast.

It has a wire bale with a black wood handle, which narrows it down to almost every one I ever saw.

Morning, folks! The coffee is hot and fresh and I might throw together some grub in a bit.

Dunno if you want me cooking for you though, I have a nasty cold that feels close to the flu.

Yuck.

You've got that right, Buck!

Didn't do much of anything yesterday. Around dusk I drove out to the hill to watch the fireworks. No crowds for me.

The coffee is on, you don't want me cooking for you.

Morning!

Thanks fer the coffee, Cuz.

Spent Saturday butchering 10 hens, cleaning and disinfecting the coop, and put the pullets in the coop/pen. Sunday, went to church and vegged with the family. Yesterday, mowed the lawn and attacked the tag alders in the back 40 with the Bush Hog. I loaded pistol, shotgun, and .45-70 blanks. I shot them instead of fireworks. Lot less expensive.

HELP!!!

I been looking all day (well, a couple of hours, anyway) for a local honey producer.  ANY local honey producer within about fifteen or twenty miles, preferably closer.

The phone directory isn't worth spit anymorre.

Web searches turn up zip.

Calls to three grocery stores have been fruitless.

Any suggestions?

Joyce (AnnieLee)

Try some calls to your local healthfood or vegan stores or to a food co-op. If anyone knows, they will. I get my local honey at craft fairs.

Rod, try a local Apple orchard they usually know a Bee Keeper who produces Honey.

Looks like everyone survived another American birthday celebration.... got my gun buggy 98% finished and is useable if I can get time to go to a match. Then waited till the heat of the day ro do some practice shooting...Story and pictures at 11..Rifles and and shotgun did fine pistols not so bueno.

At the ranch we're starting at 5:30am and hittin' the pastures by 6. Gathering the breeding Bulls and bringing them home. Trying to get them gathered before it gets to hot, so not to wear down the horses to bad and before the Bulls get too stupidfied. (If that is possible)Got in 15 yesterday have 36 to go. 2200 to 2500 pounds of pure stupid on the hoof. had one get after Pea Eye and self yesterday when i gave Pea tap with the spurs he bucked some. :o He still feels like a 2 year old. ;D

You all have a safe day will catch up later this week.

Joyce (AnnieLee)

Those are early and long days, Litl Rooster! Glad to hear Pea Eye is fiesty and responsive to you and it's going ok.

What a great way to watch Gettysburg, cousin Slim! Though I've seen Gods and Generals, I have yet to see Gettysburg.

I pretty much spent the day in bed yesterday and did some reading. But I think I've got the flu beaten back enough to go back to verk today.

Folks in grocery stores have asked me: Why are you insisting on local honey? Local honey is made from the pollen of local plants, many of which contain allergins to me. By using local honey, I build up my immune system to those allergins. It's old folklore, but it works, at least for me!

Feeling some better so the coffee is hot and fresh,

:D

"Gettysburg" was on two of our TV channels a few years ago (don't remember how many) and I taped it then. I bought "Gods and Generals" last year, and finally I found "The killer Angels" in my favorite bookstore some three months ago.
Waiting for that sequel to come out.  ;D

I'm glad you're feeling better Annie Lee. Thanks for the coffee.  :D
