I got a lot of comments on the corset, not because it was so pretty (which it was), but because of the heat. I wore it over an "underdress" cotton chemise with full sleeves. Folks thought I would be baking in the corset, but I wasn't. The cotton, though not gauzy, was light and cool on my shoulders and arms, while the corset gave excellent back support. Usually my back aches by the end of a match, but not yesterday!

With big thanks to Forty, I've found a new corset maker, so will be spending some more pennies in that direction.

The only thing that I eat that grows out of the ground is grains, corn and fruit.  I always say if it walks, crawls or slithers across the earth... it's edible.  I haven't tried it all and there's no guarantee that I'll like it, but I will try it.  If it grows out of the earth... well, that's a different story.

It was HOT. We shot through sweat. We grumbled, but didn't really care, we were shooting!

Will shot his rust off his mind and was doing good the last two stages, back in the swing of it.

I shot in a corset.

I had a total of two misses.

And I had three stages of under 60 seconds and one stage of under 50 seconds. ( That's a first for me. I had two stages like that, but got a miss on one of them.)

50 Seconds is a loooooooong time for a lot of folk, but I am a happy camper.

At the loading table for the last stage, I looked down and saw a piece of brass trapped between the corset and the chemise. Sure am glad I was wearing the chemise!

Slim, the brass picker yelped when he picked up my rifle brass. It was about 94 degrees out there, plus the heat from my heathen smokeless. It's a good thing it was a good cotton chemise!

Old top, my mind simply refuses to go down that path. It starts to, balks, then spins back around.
