Recommend all you want, Litl Rooster, but that won't mean I'll listen to it!

:P

And I don't nag Forty Fonzai. Did nag my ex about one issue for about a year, but it was necessary. (His job was giving him heart irregularities.)

Gads! < Laughing>

Ok, I'll tell it here, first.

It is one of those harebrained ideas like the one that had us flying to Newbrassky in February.

I decided I wanted a WartHog Gunfighter kilt. If anything defined "style" it would be that  kilt. I also decided that I wanted a purple hat. A flambouyant purple hat. The first conversation was with Linda and Terry at the Fort. Linda agreed to send me pics of their purple hats. I got those yesterday, then called Terry to ask about details. We talked several times and finished it up this morning. TWO hats are on their way to me.

My family kilt came from Clansman Knitwear. I started at their website, flipping through the pics of their fabrics. It was a pain as the fabrics are listed by family name, not by colors. I left a "please help me" message on Ralph's machine at Clansman. Last night I finished looking at all the swatches. I didn't see ANY matches. But then I pulled up the pic of my family's tartan and compared it to the actual fabric. The color tones on the 'net were way off, so there was still hope. But I dreaded going to the Celtic festival this weekend and standing there for 2 hours, flipping through fabric swatches.

Ralph called me within minutes of my conversation with Terry this morning. He was perplexed, admitting that off the top of his head, he could not think of a purple on green. But he pondered it a moment.

Please try to imagine a very thick Scottish brogue, for there's no way I can duplicate it: "You know, over here, all the orders we get for kilts are for the family tartans. We don't get people asking for other types of fabric. But back in Scotland, they already have the family tartan, so they are looking for style. Here, ya might want to take a look at these, the montgomery modern, Pride of Scotland, Spirit of Scotland, they're the new fabrics and highly popular over there, while I get out me swatches." He was silent for a moment.

"No, Montgomery doesn't have the purple now, does it, an the pride of Scotland doesn't have the green. But... oh, look at this, look at the Spirit of Scotland, Annie. Noe that's style. And would you know, I've only had five orders for this color in the past year n I take 40 kilt orders a week? Noone you know will have a kilt like that one."

I looked, and there it was: Dark green background for WartHog, and a vivid purple stripe for Gunfighter.

Yep, that's styling.

I'll be at the Celtic Festival on Sunday to look at that fabric in person. If all goes well, I'll be ordering the first WartHog Gunfighter kilt.

It's been a GOOD morning.

:D
