Morning, folks! Someone left the coffee on the fire, so I am cleaning out the sludge. I'll get a new pot on in a few.


I had to go pick up the greenhouse kit yesterday. The delivery man called me at verk, wanting me to fax my signature so he could deliver it today. He said the box was about 4' x 1' x 1', then asked if I had a turn around point on the property because they were going to bring it in on a 60' trailer. 

We went round and round on that for a bit, then I gave up and said I'd go get it. The box fit easily in the back seat of my car.  <mumbles something about pudknockers and sixty foot trailers>

With all the steel pipes, the box weighed about 150 pounds, so I opened it up to remove the pieces when I got home. Of course, you know what happens when you do that, you want to see how the pieces are going to fit together. ( At least, I do! ) I was just messing around with it, tinkering, since the side of the box said it would take 4 hours to assemble it. Just familiarizing myself with the pieces, ya know. Well, 30 minutes later, the framing was done.   Whooops!!

But...

I hadn't leveled out the land, so now I have the framing done, but have to go back and use a hoe to dig around until it's reasonably level. But it's very nice to know that a job I had scheduled a day to accomplish is going to take a LOT less time to complete!

While I've been rambling, the coffee got done.

I told him that geographically, it was to Spain what California was to the U.S. Just on a much smaller scale.

He understood.

But the good news is, I live some 900 feet above sea level.

BTW, Thumbs, my dog is a countyman of yours, a smooth haired Podengo Medio.  His name is Peanut.

Last night was a bitch.  I went to bed about 11:30 and started writing my next two chapters in my head.  Finally got up at 3:00 and got on the computer for four hours, writing and rewriting.

I'm down to the last dozen or so pages and then she goes to my agent.

I'm gonna go take a three hour nap.

I lived at sea level for a time. I'd dig a hole to plant a tree and it would fill with water.
