Hammock??

Annie,  you can't live too far above the border because you shoot/have shot with some of the NC folks, right?  (Tensleep, Camille Eonich, ...) or does everybody just get around?

Tensleep's outside of Richmond. He travels to NC to shoot. Camille Eonich lives in NC but has come up here to shoot at Tensleep's place and at Mason Dixon Stampede. I live about 85 miles north of Tensleep. According to MapQuest, I live about 192 miles north of Rocky Mount, NC.

While I do my share of "getting around" and shoot at Pungo (150 miles south), Rocky Mount is just too far for me to drive, shoot and drive back in one day, so I haven't been to NC to shoot yet. :(

Forty, do you cost $1428?..........Buck 8) ::) :-\ ;)
Since Forty hasn't answered  <Making chicken noises> P-Ka, P-kA!
It'd probably cost me that much to board the dogs and fly out to CA to meet Forty, Old Top, and Curley. I wouldn't bring the firearms, so probably wouldn't be able to shoot, but I could go to a match and hang out. I would bring the new flannel corset dress, though.

So, what do you think would happen if I flew out there? Would mischief and mayhem ensue, or would we be all "Aw shucks", digging our toes in the dirt  not knowing what to say, and be genteel?

A guy takes his wife out to dinner, doesn't check in when he gets home, and gets labelled a chicken.

That's the American way, I guess.

No reason to feel bad.  Heck, once you cross the NC border, you still have more than an hour and a half to drive till you get to a shoot.  I don't know why they have to be so far away!!!  The one good thing is that the place where the NC championships is held is concidered the Mecca of BBQ in NC  ;D ;D ;D

Hmm.... time to get out the pencil and add to the list. There's already

Incorrigible,
Letch,
Had to take "pervert" off...
He took his wife out to dinner so I have to scratch off "chicken"
There was another, but I can't remember what it was,

But now "shameless" has been added.

Morning y'all. Coffee and tea are hot.

My better-half and I were shooting golf balls yesterday afternoon with the Henry .44-40 BP loads. My better-half hit one solid and it flew about 50 yards.  ;D

As I've never played golf, I find this a good use for those pesky little white things!  I'll bet I couldn't get 50 yds out'a one with a driver, but maybe with my '73.  Could always setup a trap range next to a driving range, and substitute "Fore" for "Pull".

I don't play golf either, but heard of someone uses the balls as targets. So I tried it. It's kinda fun.  ;D

Used to shoot them with a TC 45 hawken with the 300 gr Lee Wadcutter and 100 grs FFg.  A hit on the bottom will drive them completly out of sight. ;D

The ones I am shooting don't have rubber bands in them. There is light green foam rubber in them.

Dern new fangled mess!

When I was a kid my cat at the time was batting a golf ball around the house.  After a short while the cat came running out of the room hissing and with her fur all bristled out, looking like a round ball.  Then we heard what we thought to be a rattle snake.  Cautiously, we looked around the corner and found that the cat had knocked the darned thing over the heater, the cover had melted off and the ball was unwinding.  The wind was so tight that when it unwound, it did so with such force the ball would bounce all over the room making the rattler sounds and then it would stop.  When it stopped, the cat would go back over to it and gingerly tap it and it would start all over again, sending the cat running.  :D :D :D

It just wouldn't be as much fun with a solid foam rubber core!!  >:(

What?? No rubber bands? Where's the adventure in that? In addition to being an outstanding cat toy, what about the future fledgling engineers?

I guess I was getting on Dad's nerves a little that day, when he handed me one of his golf balls and asked me what was in the middle of it. Of course I had to find out, and I was out of his hair most of a day unwinding that rubber string.

I think I've got some someplace if you need/want them, Slim! But when the Slimettes complain about having to pick up all the rubber string (it's annoying to step on it with bare feet), don't blame me!
