Why oh why do I suddenly feel like the straight man in what is probably going to be a stinky joke?

Okie, I'll bite...

No, Forty, I didn't. Tell me, please?

Aye, that it did.

I've met a few orchid "breeders." They seemed a little wacky, "artsiefartsie", but they're better than dog breeders. Dog breeders are just plain weird.

And why isn't Del working on that list of dresses I gave to Terry today, hmmm?

This bit of randomness has been brought to you by.....

A&W Rootbeer. It's period correct.

Forty Rod

AHA!!!

You want a new subject?

I, Madam, am a root beer connoss...connush...cornish...lover.

A&W is still one of the best, especially in a tall frosted mug. (The canned stuff don't measure up.)

I'll entertain others for me to try.  I have a friend (I do, too) who finds all kinds of scrrewball brands for me to try.  Most are something less than satisfactory, some are out and out terrible.

Check out Galco's Soda Pop Stop, HQ in Seattle, I think.

Also Anthony's Root Beer Barrel...he doesn't sell 'em, he runs a web site that compares and rates about a gazillion brands.

Might look into Beverages Direct, Root 66 (cute), and Root Berr World, too.

Joyce (AnnieLee)

Hmm.. who is "Madan"?

And Forty is either a connoisseur of root beer or he has some kinky thing going with Cornish Game Hens. :D

A&W is the best. When I was growing up, the place we wanted to go and eat was their stand, which was a true drive up, complete with the trays on the windows, girls on roller skates and frosted GLASS mugs.

Rootbeer is the second eldest soft drink. Gingerale was the only one to beat them out. Hires, the original rootbeer, is very good, but A&W is the best.

I kinda like IBC myself, didn't know Hires was the oldest. Tastewise, isn't it related to Sarsparilla?........Buck 8) ::) :-\ ???

I have much more enlightened tastes, I drink the imported stuff.

Sioux City Sassparilla, Sioux City Ginger Beer and Sioux City Birch Beer.  All root beers, all slightly different, imported from Sioux City Ioway.  For a change, Sioux City Cream Soda.  Many sodas were on tap, but I belive Hires Root beer is the first soda bottled.  About 1885 with out checking referances.  About 1899 for bottled Coca Cola, that is the good stuff before they took out the cocaine. :o :o  All sodas were considered medicinal in the 19th century.

Ice cream sodas date to before the Civil War along with tap soda (fountian).  May towns passed laws forbidding the selling of Ice Cream sodas on Sunday so they started selling ice cream with out the soda on that day, the Sunday (sundae) was born and lives with us to this day. ;D

Never devloped a taste for ginger beer or birch beer.  Some cream sodas arre alright, but most are way too sweet and syruppy for my palate.  (Palate! HA!)

Del, I've had some Sioux City and liked it........Buck 8) ;)

I am curious...

Does anyone else realize that Wisconsin will be playing North Carolina tomorrow afternoon for a slot in the Final 4? And that if Wisconsin happens to upset North Carolina, Slim is going to have HUGE bragging rights over Trinity?

I think I sense a walk by Kabonging brewin'! Del, We had a vendor at our County Fair a few years back that was offerin' Buffalo burgers and had Sioux City for beverages. I had the Sassparilla. He was there only one year, every year I keep looking for him, but he's been a no-show since..........Buck 8) ::) :-\ :'(
