I'm doing ok, Slim. Still a little disheartened about how somebody profits from every new regulation, thus squeezing the potential entrepenuer, but I'll get over that. How are you? How's Freddie the Fetus?

Oh, yeah, I forgot to tell you, Slim... the shop called and my 24" Husqvarna chainsaw, the one that'll go through trees like butter, has been refurbished and I can pick it up any time. Delmonico has reason to be skeeered now!

I'm doing pretty good, but my mind is fried with end of month reports and getting things ready fer our office move the end of this month.
The misses went to the Doc yesterday. The baby is 14 weeks along. She listened to the heartbeat. It is supposed to come around July 30th. So, I might not be going to the NCOWS National shoot this year.  :(

We got's trees out to Dad's place that would sent that chainsaw whimperin' back to the shop fer repairs. ;D    Had a neighbor that had a cottonwood smaller than any we got needed taken down.  They got the guy with the sticks of the stuff that goes boom to take it out.  Six foot in diameter, dyin' and in the way of farmin'.  We got's some 10-12 feet in diameter and some Osage Orange that is 4-5 foot in diameter. ;D ;D  But the lime would bu useful in the outhouse. ;D

I was always partial to, "I got a forty-five an' a shovel, live ten minutes from the desert, an' I don't figure nobody's gonna miss you enough to go lookin' for your body."

My favorite, though, is very simple: "The last person who crossed me would've been just about your age now."
People like me are the reason people like you have the right to bitch about people like me.

As it turned out, I didn't use Elle today, though I wanted to when we went to the florist to pick up the corsage for Will to give to his date for the ball.

When I ordered the corsage, I had a long talk with the florist and was clear in saying that it was to be a black rose, with blue accents. I also said that a silk black rose would be acceptable if he couldn't dye one.  He said he could get a rose and dye it, so I was content. What we picked up was PURPLE, and not a rose. It was this  strange, spidery looking thing. The florist said he had tried to paint a rose, but the paint had come off. He said I didn't have to pay him anything, but he spun such a sad tale of his attempts, I felt sorry for him and gave him a partial payment.

Then we went on the quest for the correct corsage. It's amazing how small town florists are either not open on a Saturday, or don't know how to make a corsage! While we were driving hither and yon, my son took a closer look at the wrong corsage. "Mom, it's got plastic on it!"

"What?? Lemme see that." He handed it over. "Good grief, that pudknocker didn't even use real flowers, he stuck FAKE purple flowers in there! Grrrr!"

We ended up at Micheal's, the local craft store. We picked out a silk black rose with silk blue flowers to accent it, and the wonderful lady at the counter transformed them into a beautiful corsage.

The day was saved.

We decided that the purple thing I got from the florist looks like the Chinese dragon from the movie "Mulan." I had placed the order for the corsage on Wednesday. The florist had plenty of time to do what we eventually had to do, make a nice one from silk flowers.

This evening, my son looked handsome in his uniform and the corsage was a perfect match for his date's black and blue gown. She was beaming and beautiful. They had a grand evening together. It all worked out, but Elle is itching to KaBong a that florist.

AnnieLee, who may post pics of the alien corsage later.
