  Coffee is on the warmer.....Headin' back to work. Vacation was to way short and nothing accomplished.

Was rushed and took two misses with the rifle on the first stage of the first day. ARGGGGGH!! I don't get rifle misses!

One miss on the first stage of the second day. That was it for misses for the match.

Didn't drop a firearm, didn't shoot over the berm, didn't sweep anyone...

And that's all I needed to do to bring home a plaque.

I learned that State Championshops are different than Regionals as far as tone and intensity. The "lower" tier shooters show up for the regionals for the fun and the shopping. State is mostly about the top tier.

Will brought home a certificate for winning junior long distance pistol caliber rifle. He did good, and brought home second place Young Gun. He kicked my rear and he wore his kilt.

They had us shooting as two posses on each stage. One posse would shoot while the other did the chores. I was spotting at the beginning of the first stage and they hadn't announced the shooting order for our posse. They called out the names when the first posse was done and I was shooting fifth or something. I meandered to the cart to get my ammo when someone hollared: "ANNIE, YER FIRST UP!!" My reply was an intelligent: "Huh? I'm fifth!"

"No, you aren't, they changed the order! Yer up!"

And so everything from then on was a blur of rushing... including those two shots.

But it was the Manatee Mojo that got me.

I didn't get no plaque. One the last stage I had nine pistol misses.  Dick Dastardly said they were dead-center but under the targets.

BTW, I shoot the whole match (10 stages) gunfighter FC.

He shot it Traditionalist, Slim. He can be a WartHog Gunfighter when he grows up. I did shoot five .38 rounds before the match started. It felt like a pop-gun toy. Was told I shot it dead center, though.
