Converting modern sport coat to a 1870 sack coat

For give the conditon of my last poste my phone was malfunctinoing but as I had sead there are more optians than just cloth coverd or metal buttons depending on fabric style u want somthing that complaments the sack coat for brown fabric colour I'd sugest hore or antler or bone of a matching colour for tan or whit I'd say antler or bone that's be antiqued or sun bleach or pure whit I'd also sugest mother of peral for darcker colours like darck gray I'd say silver or a cloth coverd button of a matching fabric.

As for button size I'd say at least 1/2in to a whole 1in and u might use four to five buttons not including cuffs and such but u still might want buttons that match ur main front buttons

Greating agen prads I was thinking wool is good and all but what about during the summer a wool sack coat would be to hot to shoot in if u at a summer SASS or NCOWS match so consider this a unlined cotten lab coat or a lenin one if your lucky a lab coat can be re cut and shaped and easly converted if one is daring enough they could atempt to make a un lined frock with full skirt the cotton coat could also be tea staind for a more aged look once I get a lab cot I will atempt a sack coat and if I am sucsesfull I wiil atempt a frock
