Hobie

I would like to mention that these molds seem to be better than average.  Mine cast great bullets right from the start.  I think the fifth bullet was a good one!  Very unusual despite my earnest preparations, pre-heating mold, etc.  This mold casts very easy.
Sincerely,

Hobie

Esteemed Gentlemen:  I talked with Lou Sellman today.  The left overs from the original special order are GONE.

But!  He is ordering more 457192 molds.  So, send Lou an email for your request.  Again ... First Come Basis!

Lou Sellman ... customcastbullets@yahoo.com  ... same price, $65 plus shipping

Some background:  In order to obtain one of these original Ideal molds, Lou was required to purchase the cherry from Lyman ... and the cherry isn't cheap.  But with the purchase of the cherry, he owns it and no one else (even Lyman) cannot produce these special order molds

And while I have the floor - I'm trying to put together a specail order for the Ideal 375166 mold for the 38-55.  It was calculated in a 2007 the Black Powder Cartridge news article by Don Miller to have the closest ballistics to a 1:18 barrel shooting black powder.

If Griz wouldn't mind - I'll put up the group buy information for this mold on the forum cause ... it won't fit in a Winchester '76!  ;D

QuoteHI JOHN,
I AM WAITING TO HEAR BACK FROM LYMAN ABOUT THE EXPECTED DELIVERY DATE OF THE CHERRIES FOR THE 462560. I GAVE THEM THE ORDER TO GO AHEAD WITH IT.

I ALSO HAVE THEM SETTING UP THE 457192 RUN AGAIN. HEARD FROM A COUPLE OF THE FELLOWS WHO WANT IT AND SOME THOUGH I HAD THEM ON HAND. I DID HAVE TWO LEFT BUT THEY ARE GONE NOW.

IF THE FELLOWS WANT TO SEND IN ORDERS FOR EITHER OF THESE TWO, THIS WILL BE ON A FIRST COME BASIS. CHECK OR MONEY ORDER ONLY. I DONT DO THE CREDIT CARDS.

THE 462560 WILL BE $75.00 AND THAT IS BECAUSE THE TWO CHERRIES WILL RUN ME ABOUT 600.00 TO HAVE THEM MADE. BUT THE NICE PART OF THAT IS NO ONE ELSE WILL BE ABLE TO USE THEM.

THE 457192 WILL STILL BE $65.00

PA RESIDENTS 7% SALES TAX.

IF THEY WANT TOP PUNCHES $8.75  OR SIZEING DIES $19.50 I WILL INCLUDE THE SHIPPING WITH THE MOULD. SHIPPING WILL BE PRIORITY MAIL $10.00 TO USA.

MY ADDRESS IS:
LOUIS SELLMAN
2003 EWINGS MILL ROAD

Enjoy the mold and happy shooting ... cause you are buying a piece of History!

I've just received my new mould.  I couldn't wait to try it out.  They cast real pretty!

WEIGHT 342 GR

DIA .455

I havn't shot it yet, but has anyone had any problems with the relatively small diameter?  My alloy was a bit soft, so it might drop larger if I harden up the metal?  I made up a loading dummy, as I always do with a new bullet, and it seems to assemble properly.
