Major and I ordered those glasses at the same time and I have received mine. We have been keeping in touch with each other. I am sorry he has not gotten his yet. I bought some brass at the same time and I have gotten it also.

TL - Are there any discernible markings on those glasses (besides "Taiwan...") so we may search for an alternate supplier?

I've got my excuses and I'm stickin' to 'em.

Wow........
I hope you all don't get screwed!! I'm kinda sorry I started this topic.... the way....I ordered my glasses from Wal-Mart yesterday, they are oval, with polycarbonate safety glasses, and side shields.

Once I de-farb them they will look like the eye glasses in the sears catalog.

These will serve as my everyday glasses too. Total cost, with progressive lenses (no line bifocals), polycarbonate safety lenses, was $348.00. Expensive? yes,.....but like I said...these will serve as my everyday glasses. The frames alone were $84.00.

Oh....I think we should start calling these spectacles and do away with the term 'glasses', since it is so difficult to get real glass in 'eye glasses' anymore.

OCB, don't feel bad about starting this topic. It is a good ideal. If we can't be completely correct, at least we can look closer than we have been. I am still watching the mail and hoping my specs will arrive. TJ

Major.....

The frames are the SG102 SAFETY. When you get them you will have to remove the nose pads and plastic on the the temples.

I have ordered a pair of the Wilson safety glasses/goggles off ebay and they are at Hamilton Dry Goods and we are looking to get someone to build these . They are as close as I care to get to historical accuracy  with eye safety in mind . I hope to be at the Eastern Regional to get your opinions on these .They have larger lens and have Leather side shields

For those who asked... I finally got those safety glasses this afternoon....
They are OK , about what I expected for 10 bucks...in fact maybe better... :P

But as to PC, well they are better than the Bright Yellow wraparound ones  ::) I had to use before..

The guy took forever  :( to sent them, 3 weeks and 2 days... but he tried to make it right by sending a second pair in clear :-\
so my only complaint is his delay.
He also charge $5.95 to ship and the package was only $4.00 Priority Mail... so figure he hedged $2
what the heck 2 pair $16 bucks I'm not hurt  ;D
These will do until I get a real PC pair  ;)

And yea they are made in Taiwan.... go figure  ;)

Yes, I got my glasses today. They are a good pair of safety glasses and do look better than what I have been using. I think the fellow is honest and just had some problems that were out of his control. I would deal with him again. TJ
