Chris,  I am not sure what you are asking here.  Please explain more.

Hi, Chris.  Thanks for sharing the pics of the old UMC ammunition.  It is fun to have some of the old stuff to use as a comparison, or to display with a rifle.  I have a few in my collection, as well. :)

Of course, this old ammo should never be fired in any rifle.

I can't help, but maybe Buck can give you some idea.

Why not?  Just curious.

Check the condition of the cases.  Much of the old ammo suffers from corrosion - not all of which is visible. That's just my policy, your mileage may vary! ;D

Even if found in pristine condition, it makes for some really expensive shooting! :D

Your ammo probably dates to the 1915 to 1921 period.  The photo below shows two full boxes of original .50-95 ammo.  The box on the top is an early "Winchester" box dating to around 1880.  The one on the bottom is a UMC box that dates to the 1915 period.  The headstamp on your cartridges is the same as the original ammo in the bottom box.  Old ammo of this type should NEVER be fired.  Even if the condition is excellent, this is rare and valuable ammo.

Adios,
Buck
