On the USFA CSS forum there's an entire section that has photos of people's USFA revolvers. Now photos of our revolvers are a little hard to come by. So I said to myself, "Self, somebody has got to get it started" So who wants to show off their Remington steel? I know I would love to see somebody's Hartford Armory 1875's!
A work in progress.

Have you visited the SCORRS web site? There are plenty of photos there submitted by our members.

I was the proud on-line "viewer" of this  pair of Hartford Armory Remingtons.......they were for sale on GunBroker last year...so I saved the photos.

Mighty fine looking bluing job.  :)

OK. I trimmed down the web on the rammers to look more like originals. The top pistol has been cut to 6". The bottom one was bought as a 5 1/2" and I added a full-web rammer (modified to look more correct) so it would appear to be one that was cut down.

I made the holsters to look slightly different, as though someone had picked them up at different times but tried to match them up as best possible. I put different historically correct designs and dyes on them. Both holsters are made from the same pattern so they work and feel exactly the same.

any chance anybody has found authentic original pictures of the 58 and 75 Remington?
that way it's easy to see the differences made, and easy to modify to look as authentic as possible.  I had no idea about the ram-rod thingy.

I did a bunch of searches on them. They were all shaped by hand and some rammers looked much like the ones on Ubertis but the majority were trimmer looking. Here's a pic of an original '63 web.

wow they were "hand made?"  jeez.  I can see how replica's might have a problem with that. Thanks for finding that pic Marshall.

Here are my new Uberti 1875 Remingtons had a little problem with them right out of the box (see earlier post) something to do with the seer (not sure of spelling).  Got them back today seem to be OK.

what do you think of the pietta?  pretty nice?  easy to do the conversion?
is that the 8"er?  looking forward to shooting duelist with an 8" and 12" on crossdraw.  Go to gunslinger with two custom 5 1/2" after. hehehe

I have a big paw so I was wondering if the pietta fit better.  The uberti hurt my "web" between my thumb and forfinger, right behind the hammer.  can't imagine firing the thing.  blister in no time.

The pietta has was woriked well for me.  The conversion cylinder was a simple drop in.  I did have to have the hand and bolt worked on after some use but I htink that was my fault and not the guns.  I do like the bigger grip
like I said, I am on the look out for a bargain on another pietta 58 and kirst converter.
I'll post some more pics when I get my holter back from Doltan.

Nothing special. Just a brace of Uberti's with the R&D conversion cylinders.

Those look amazing, both sets!
I love the 75 looks way more balanced than the peacemaker, and it feels better too.  Seems stronger as well.  People talk about that "sail"  I say, that's what makes it a Remington, and what makes it shoot straight, not pop up, and nail every time!

I've posted some of these pics before, but here goes again!  First, my '75 Remmie in .357.  Note the pinched post front sight:

Next, my brace of Uberti NMA's.  These originally had that butt-ugly Millennium Finish.  I took it off with vinegar and discovered what I believe to be a bead-blasted surface underneath.  Here's what they looked like shortly after being stripped, and before the R&D cylinders and new grips. Note that I didn't strip the original cylinders.

I have let them "age" naturally over the past 18 months or so.  Here's what they looked like a few months back:

I also just got a brace of consecutively-numbered stainless Pietta NMA's with 5.5-inch barrels.  No pics yet, but when they're all finished they'll be my "dress" pistolas! ;D

Regards to all,
