I need to ask a stupid question. What is the difference between faux ivory, micarta, polymer grips? What does Larry the Gripmaker use on his? Which is the best to go with without breaking the bank?

Major 2

Micarta is a layup of Paper or cloth in a resin applying heat and pressure to layers

Polymer is Urethane pored in a mold to make a solid in any Variety of colors

Faux Ivory is a urethane in some cases with Ivory (particles) content added..,

what Larry's Faux Ivory formula is I don't know, what I do know is it's very nice, it's tough, it ages (color)  and won't cost and arm

I thought a faux was just a small stag.

Thats ok Major.  Accidents happen.   I do think that Larry puts some real ivory powder in his or so I have been told.

If anyone has pictures of Gripmakers grips on their guns, I would like to see them. Cannot decide whether to go plain or somesort of carving.

I'll bet you still can't decide  ;D
