i am concerned about holster wear.would the ruger s/s vaquero just polish more and would the ruger c/h
wear away to bright over time. i am partial to the c/h but i would like it better if it is durable

The stainless steel guns are totally user friendly, you don't have to worry about holster wear, scratches , , and they look great , it's like having a nickle plated gun, but you don't have to worry about the nickle comeing off , if your in bad weather they will hold up a lot better than anything elese out there, the blued guns look nice too , but you will get holster wear, and the sun and the use of gun cleanig solvents will lighten the case coloring, I have blued guns and they do show wear, but I really don't care , it just gives them character, if you don't want wear on your blued case colored gun, you should just leave it in the box , I only say this because, if you are going to worry about things like this , your not going to enjoy your gun like you should, this is just what happens to blued guns ,even if you line your holster with suede leather or smooth leather, you will still get wear , and when the suede gets dirty, it's worst than if you didn't have it lined at all, it will work like sand paper on your gun, suede is fine for a concelment holster, or a holster that doesn't have to be in the elements, but our sport is not like that , you could fine yourself in the rain, dust, wind, and sunny hot days, so I suggest you don't worry about it and just enjoy your gun and the sport.

You pretty much guessed it... the SS will show little wear if any to Holster rub.
The CH on Rugers is color casehard, it's OK and mostly out of any direct contact with holster..however high spots
will wear and the overall is easy pray to Chemicals should you use the wrong ones.

The areas that seemed to wear most on my Rugers , was the Cyl. highs , ejector tube side and the tip of the barrel
from Holster wear.
The Case did fade but not from direct contact with leather.

While I was typing 10 Wolves said it alll  :-X
