Reckon that couldah been argued when I was a cop 'n a defense attorney didn't have anythin' else. Retired now. Call 'em as I see 'em.
Knew you were a LEO.  Not questioning at all the observations you made.  Seem pretty astute to me.

It makes me sad to know that Boston John is no longer with us. Somehow I missed the news of him passing away.

Count me in as a pipe smoker also.

Coal Creek Griff

I've been known to light up a pipe once in a while--there's nothing quite so relaxing as sitting around a campfire puffing a pipe after dark...  I always felt that pipe tobacco smells best when someone else is smoking it, though.

Thanks for the answers guys and I'm sorry about that.
I just plumb lost this post? Still getting use to the forum I guess?

Nice to see I'm not alone.  Ya'll scared me at first.  Made me think... Hummmm that might not be the thing to ask!! haha...  Still not sure how we went down the weed smoking in flavored blunt wrappers road with that question though?  ;)

And what was that movie that the one cowboy kept taking the tobacco pouch from the other?
I'm thinking John Wayne was one of the two and everytime he'd roll a good smoke he'd end up giving it to Dean Martin cause he couldn't roll worth a hoot.  I'm sure it will show on TCM again for the month is over!

Ho, Coloradian.

The weed stuff is just a l'il thing known as 'thread drift'. Even happens on respectable boards. Ain't no thing.

Nothin' ta be scared of. Look 'round in Tall Tales might find ya like it here. Watch out fer that moderator Slim fellah. He's a tough one. Wants ta outlaw Velveeta.

Yeah sort of thought so Arcey.
Pretty funny all the same.  My grandfather use to speak of smoking skunk weed that grew in the ditches when he couldn't get any baccy?  No wonder he got along with my grandmother so well. haha...

And I'll keep an out out for that Slim fella!  ;)

Professor Marvel

When I still smoked, my favorite load was a self-made blend of  3-star Royal and 3-star Blue,  from Iwan Riese in Chicago. After I left the Windy City Capt Black (gold or royal are outstanding) served me quite well, in one of several well-broken in briars,  or my favorite, a Sherlock Holmes style Meerschaum Calabash. There is nothing smoother than good Cavendish tobacco in a well-made meerschaum. Gave up recerational tobacco, still have the pipe collection. Probably just as well... the older I get the more absent-minded, and black powder and a lit pipe don't mix LOL...

Does anybody here remember the episode of "Leave it to Beaver" where the Beave and his pal smoked old coffee grounds through Wards new Meerschaum?
They got sick as dogs and turned the color on the virgin pipe.  Don't know what brought that ta mind, haven't seen the show in ages.  I need TV Land.

That's a good one!

Who was the western star who always smoked a pipe in the movies?  He teamed up with Clint as bounty hunters, in one movie I remember.  Always had this one pipe with an orange stem it seemed??? Hummmm  Anyone know?

That had ta be the darkest of the Leone films.  The music from that pocket watch was hypnotizing.  Lee Van Cleef always played his parts ta the hilt.

This thread made me fire up my briar over the weekend.  Sittin' outside, enjoying a western novel with the cows out in the field in front of me, enjoying a good smoke (me, not the cows)...  It helped make my weekend.

Yeah, I think it's sad they're sort of goin away.  I remeber when all the liquer stores had pipe cleaners and filters at the counter.  Don't see that anymore, no call fer em.  A pipe sure does smell better than any other smoke (ceptin for a Backwoods ceegar).
There's something extra relaxing about it ya don't get from a Marlboro.

Any respectable thread in Tall Tales will drift.  If it doesn't it ain' no good to begin with. 8)

Around here, all conversations will eventually either turn to weed or poop. ;D
