I have been slowly working on de-farbing my Pietta 1858, and have now removed all the Italian markings.  I would like to have a correct digit serial number stamped under the barrel before having it refinished....  Does anyone have a picture of what the origonal markings looked like?

Thanks in advance.

I have been working on a converted Navy Beals for a shooting pard.  It is probably representative of the Remington markings.  Though it was reblued by someone in the past, and not done very well, I have been cleaning it up.  The serial number is 14400, and the other number 158 is a conversion number added by Remington.
