:(  About 1700 today, my main Dell confuser went South on me!  Contact Dell Tech Support and got someone in Tennessee who actually speaks American!  Basic analysis is that the harddrive is gone.  They're shipping me another one, but probably won't get here until Monday, and in the meantime, I'm using my old Dell that I kept, which is working through dial-up vice highspeed wireless.  This one isn't compatable with my new HP printer, and I can't get the drivers to install, probably because the old computer is on Windows 98!  So, until I can get things straightened out, I'm probably not going to be on the wire that much.

My e-mail still works, but I can't print anything out...yet.  Gotta see if the older Dell laser printer will work, though it needed a $169 drum, which is why I went to the HP!  :P

Well, things could be a LOT worse, however.  According to a posting on the other website, someone lost a grandson in the sandpile! God bless and keep him!

Update:

Believe it or not, Dell got me a new hard drive overnight!  Only problem is re-installing all the software I had on the old one.  Can't get my e-mail on this one yet, as I've got to contact my ISP (Monday) and get the right codes for up- and- downlinks.  HP printer doesn't work yet...HP tried to help me download from the net, but it wouldn't recognize the driver.  So I have to wait until Tuesday or so on that.

Meanwhile, I am able to get e-mail at my e-mail address...through my old Pentium 2 confuser I kept after getting this one!  Have to go dial-up, though, which makes it slower than...

So, I'm partway there, I guess...

Ride easy, but BACKUP FREQUENTLY!
