Wills Point Pete

Well, I'm done shooting for the summer. I've had some pain in my right shoulder for some time, it's been getting worse.

I finally have in diagnosed, a torn rotator cuff. The surgery is on June 10th and I'll be out for at least eight weeks after that between time it's completely immobile and then the bouts with the physical terrorists.

Oh, foo! Interestingly the last shoot I went to the tear was already there. What hurt was the motion, the recoil of the BP 12 gauge and the 250 grain .45s did not hurt. The motion, though, that hurt.

Pardon me while I kick the dog and use some ugly words.

What crappy luck! Hope all goes well with the surgery. On the good side when you come back with the bionic shoulder think of how fastttt you will be.

Take care.

I had a similar kind of surgery.  Luckily, it was in the off season.  I did this though and it may help you Pete.  I got to let the match director and RO to let me shoot pistols only.  Did it left handed.  Lots of loaded pistols layin' around on each stage.  I didn't shoot in any particular class, but I had fun.

Anyway, good luck and hope you get a pretty PT.  My bride wouldn't let me keep mine :'( ;)

I had to lay out several shoots last summer because of eye surgery.
The local clubs were happy to see me show up just to run the timer.
If not that, then permanent loading/unloading or simply spot for everybody.
Keeps you in the game even if you're not playing.

It's too bad about your shoulder.  Good luck with the surgery.  I think Nozzlerag has the right idea.  Even if you can't shoot you can still remain active in the game.

Load ya up some 40 grain BP loads with 3/4 ounce of shot, and run some 150 EPPs or JP 200s in yer rifle.  Shoot the shotgun from the hip if need be.  Just get yerself out there and shoot.

I can't help but think that this would actually speed up the healing process.

Hope you mend quickly.

I've got my excuses and I'm stickin' to 'em.

Best of luck to ya.

Please don't hurt the dog.  ;)
