Ever wonder what would happen if a CAS shooter ran foul of the law, or even worse, if he was a CAS and IPSC shooter?

Imagine the headlines. I'd bet the word "cache" would be prominently used.

Last year I loaded and shot 14,685 rounds of .38spl, and about 2500rds of .45lc.  But you would never know it by the way I shoot. :)  I thought you were supposed to get better with practice. ;D

Down to three hundred primers, I ventured out to the "new" Gander Mtn tonight to get some new ones. When I've been there before, they didn't have Federal primers, just Winchesters. I was ready to switch to Winchesters, since the other store, the one that carries Federals, is a lot farther away.

They didn't have any large pistol primers. No Federal, no Winchester, not even any CCIs.

strange, I had the same problem with the Gander here. Only I was looking for Federal SP's. Had $135 in giftcards. Susie got some nice sweaters, I finally had them search their shelf back there and came up with a brick and a half of the GM's in SP mag, all loose packages. Got some 50ct ammo boxes. This time of year, they keep their inventory down for tax time I believe.........Buck 8) ::) :o :-\

It still amazes me to read about the amount of Ammo you guys (and gals) can store.  Here in G.B. while it was still legal to own hand guns by Law, I could only keep 150 rounds of each calibre, and could only buy 100 at a time.  So you were looking at a total of 450 rounds (legally) 150 of .22...150 of .38 and 150 of .45 L.C.  Of course like many other shooters I reloaded my own, but even so we had to be careful.  So make sure you NEVER lose the second amendmet.

Aye, Buck, that's what the salesman told me, that their inventory was intentionally low because it's that time of year.

Uncle Red, it is almost a day to day struggle to keep the 2nd Amendment. And if a person who is accused of a crime has their house searched and firearms or ammo is found, the news media has a field day with it. While this person is "innocent until proven guilty in a court of law," the media doesn't care. More than once I have seen the firearms noted more heavily in the article than the crime for which the residence was searched.

That's odd. When I was at my best in Standard Pistol I used up about 1000 .22 LR a month just for practice. I'd be around the ammo supplier everyday.

Four-Eyed Buck

Annie, you're right about the media focusing on the guns found/ammo there. Of course there's the occassional re-enactor who screws up with BP and blows the end of their garage off. last one noted was an artillery guy who was welding in his garage and had leaky powder bags too close to where he was working, a hot spark or piece of metal hit it......BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM.........No more garage end.............Buck 8) ::) :o >:(

<Yawn> Morning folks!

20 degrees outside, with a chance of snow. The forecasters are wavering back and forth on how much we'll get. Last night they were saying 1"-3", today they are saying a dusting without much accumulation. I reckon we'll know when we look outside and see how much is on the ground tomorrow morning.

Our snow has stopped, and the melt is on.  Day time highs in the mid 40's.  However, we have a temp. inversion giving us freezing fog at night.  Known around here as Pogonip.
