I won't be there, either. Have to remove this tree from my road when it turns daylight, then there's that small thing about my revolvers not having sights that work for me and my load.

Whelp, that tree is out of the way, now. Chainsaws spoil you! It's been too long since I swung an ax; had to remember it's as much hip movement as arm movement, and to let Mr. Gravity do some of the work for me.

Glad it's done,

Evening, All. It's 22 here now, no wind chill. Had sun most of the day, not that it did much
to warm things. We went to Hartville today to see a local TV personality and take a look around the new indoor Flea Market up there. At least got some walking in. Haven't tried TFS yet. At least the people south of us got some relief today. No extra water. The one dam won't be at max until Tueday, I believe. There's three communities that are surrounded by water at the moment. About half the residents evac'ed before complete cut off..................Buck 8) :-\

Expecting snow late tonight and into the morning. Boy, pictures at the Rt 212 interchange was up to the bottom of the signs on the posts. Bridge deck is really covered now...........buck 8) ::) ;)

Morning Miss Annie,

Are you staying dry?

Old Top
I only shoot to support my reloading habit.

Delmonico

Pour me a cup Annie, better this mornin' only -9 when I went and started the stovebolt rocket. ;D  Sun was up higher and solar energy warmed the carb a bit, started a little easier. ;D

Howdo, Old Top and Del!

It's not raining here and some of the flooded roads are clearing. Today in the Lee kitchen, we have fresh banana bread and split pea soup. The soup came out better than I expected.

6 year old pea soup is better, 1999 was a good year for it.  I hope ya made it thick so it's like porrage, but don't leave it in the pot 9 days.

Feel good enough to take off my spurs and gun, get the ladder and stock those boots and change that light bulb I've needed to chanfe. ;D ;D

I went out and priced pressure cookers today so I'll be able to can soup.
saw a Presto 17 quart for $70 and a Mirro 20 qt for about $75. The Mirro didn't have the guage, though, it had some other fancy do-dad on top of the cooker. Since I'm not familiar with that, I decided to wait to buy one.

Naw, I was up late last night making ammo, so I tended the fires. I just forgot to post about it! The coffee is fresh and hot!

You know, I don't know how folk burn through tens of thousands of rounds every year. Their rears must be semi-permanently fixed to the loading bench. Maybe I'm just being slow with my 550. But from start to finish, it takes me about 30 minutes to load 100. Of course, I do make sure there's a primer in the cup as it moves forward, and I check for powder in each case before I index it forward.

Annie, Most of them are using 650's or 1050's( the commercial type press). Those are the higher volume/speed presses. For my .45's, I'm using a SDB. Fired cvases are working quite nicely, the new ones that were with it...........first time I've ever had to lube a straight sided case! These were primed already and really are giving me fits. Out of 500, I've got about 116 to go  to have them loaded. Had to remove the deprime pin and size them as the crimps weren't good. These were Rems., I usually prefer Win. in .45, don't particularly like Rem. pistol brass. Had three stuck cases before the light finally went on........DUH!!!! ::) :o >:(.............Buck 8) :-\

Joyce (AnnieLee)

I didn't know you could buy pre-primed casings. I've been buying Starline brass, and use Lee carbide dies, so the casings run smoothly (as long as I remember to push them all the way into their slot).

Dang, I just did some calculating. If I shot every weekend, which is possible in this area, and my son shot with me on the weekends he is here, I'd need 6120 rounds of .45 ammunition and 1080 of .38 a year.
And that's just match ammo, doesn't count practice ammunition, and when I practice, I shoot more ammo than at a match!

Arrrrrrrgghhhh!!!

:D

AnnieLee, gonna need a chair for her loading bench.

Annie, it adds up! :o I use a bar stool, when I sit, which isn't often. My bench is higher than some, saves me bending( the back, don't cha know). I usually check every ten rounds or so for powder weight, so I'm back and forth to the scale a lot. One of these days I'm going to have to take inventory and just for grins & gigles see how much ammo I've got loaded around here. Probably well over 2,000 rounds in all the calibers! 8) :o :o...............Buck 8) ;)
