I have wanted a Sharps since I was a kid. Well I decided that I was going to start saving for one. The model of sharps that I want is the sporting model 1 or model 3. Base model, no extra stuff on it. $1650 - 1750.  C. Sharps does not have the same models, but the one that looks close is $200 dollars more. granted you dont have to wait as long, but 200 bucks is 200 bucks. Now, I have heard alot about Pedersoli. The closest model I found was the Dixon which is also 200 dollars more than the Sharps and the same price as the C.Sharps. The Armisport is quite a bit less, but sometimes the quality control is lacking. I have an 1842 Springfield smoothbore from them. The metal finish is great and beautiful wood but the fit could be a little better. I dont know which way to go. Seems like they are all more than the sharps, but again a lot less wait. I think maybe the wait to save 200 bones would be worth it, or maybe not. I dont like to wait. Am I way off base here, or does this make any sense.

Get the american sharps if in your price range. The Italian ones are inflated right know due to the euro to dollar to exchange rate.
This makes them (american) the better buy. Also I feel later the price of the Italian ones will drop big time.

Have you checked out Gunbroker.com?  They normally have both C.Sharps and Shilohs listed.  You might find what you are looking for there.

that is kind of what I was thinking. Also their wait would give me time to save the clams that it is going to cost. I sure like those two models. Actually, my favorite is the Quigley but I cannot afford the extra money for it. The #1 or #3 will be stretching it as it is. Thank you guys for the replies.

Everyone, feel free to give me your ideas as well. I am very new, never done silhouette shooting or long range. So any information that anyone can give would be very helpful.
