I have a 9" Bear MGC bowie with a stag handle that I plan on wearing on my gunbelt. I am wondering what, if any, kind of blades ya'll carry.

Well, without measuring it, Ihave a blade that is about 9 to 11 inches long with a stag handle. It rides high up on the belt and stays in place. ;D

Howdy......
I carry an 'Anza Bowie'    www.anzaknives.com
It is 10 3/4 long with a 6" blade and Elk horn stage handle. If I can ever get the picture thing ta work I will post it along with all my other Anza Knives.

Good shootin......

I don't now, but I'm working on a bandito look that will have at least one on my back... so even then I won't have a belt knife, will I?  ;D

I have several knives that are right for CAS but being rather portly I don't like anything more than I need on my belt :).

I usually carry a period pocket knife instead.

The knives I have are a Shefield type bowie.  An original Persian dagger with about a 10" damascus blade and walrus ivory scales.  A custom dagger with a damascus blade and stag grips.
I also made a copy of the Persian dagger which came out pretty nice.

Nope.  I'm not carryin' nothin I don't absolutely have to.  I am a very thin man and things like holster belts have a way of working there way down to my boots if I'm not careful.  Don't need the extra weight.  Actually had an old German seemstress who was taking in a pair of slacks for me say "your problem, young man, is that you don't have a butt."  This would be a good time to ask a question I've been wondering about, is it legal in shooting matches to have suspenders holding your gun belt up?  ::)..... Yup, I do when I am shooting frontiersman. I just had this knife sheath made by 4 Eyed Bill to match my rig. Having a knife handy is great for prying off caps and other chores.  :)

I carry a knife I bought in the Colorado Springs area while on a business trip.  It not only has a great stag handle but a sheath that uses leather and stag to secure the knife.  Very period looking.  I have seen these knives since but cannot call them out by name. It is very nice on a cowboy rig and is now a part of my gear.

Lady Line

no , i don't because the fellers tell me that they watch what they say because i can use the guns that i carry ::) ::)
now seriously, i don't wear anything i don't have to, because it hinders my shooting, by having extra weight or the movements i can make.
yea, they call me a GAMER. :P
shoot strait and remember to always have fun!!!

Will Pluggum,

I wish I had your problem! I can still see my boots without bending over, but bending over is getting harder all the time!

Doodyville Dude,

That is a nice looking rig ya got there! I really like the color of the sheath.

Shiloh Sharpie,

I would love to see pics of your blade. It sounds cool!

Lady Line,

Being raised with five sisters, I learned three things at an early age:

1) Never leave the seat up.....
2) Never mess with a lady who can use a gun or a knife.....
3) Ya got to sleep sometime!

This is the rig I sometimes wear.  The thing I've learned is be careful if the stage has you sitting in something.  It can be like squatting on your spurs!
