That Butch Wax was light green and the jar had a red lid.  I had to get 3 haircuts in a week to get it short enough. Those clippers had vaccum cleaners attached so you didn't know how much hair they were cutting off.

summertime haircuts were whitewalls all the way up and over, but they always left that little dab right in the very front,  I often wonder why they didn't just cut all of it.
then I remember the 60's and the Beatles,  everybody thought man what a lot of hair, when you look back at the old pictures, they really didn't have "that"  long a hair, but in my high school at the time, don't let the principal catch ya with it touching your collar,  ;D

I remember in the fifth grade science class we were given topics to do a report on.  I got hair.  So, we all went to the library and I looked up Hair in the encyclopedia and what did I find?  The Beetles.  I couldn't understand what the big deal was, because they looked normal to me. ;D ;D

I used to slick my hair back in high school, but got tired of putting "stuff" in my hair so I stopped and haven't gone back.  The only thing I put in my hair is shampoo every morning.  I can't get over the idea of putting anything like vaseline in my hair.  I hate for my hair to feel greasy.  :P

Brylcreem & Butch Wax! Sure brings back memories. In 1955 I was a sophomore in high school and went through a whole tube of Brylcreem just about every other week. I had the same exact hair cut that John Travolta had in the movie "Grease".

In the early fifties I used to go to a local movie theater every Sunday. They would show two B westerns and a children's admission cost 11 cents. As I remember the movies usually starred Johnny Mack Brown, Allan "Rocky" Lane, Roy Rogers, Monte Hale and even Lash LaRue.

You'd a hated Dixie Peach Trinity.
The stuff is impervious to shampoo.  It's been over 20 years since I used it an I swear there's still traces of it in ma hair ;D  I think that's when ma hair went from brown ta black--never been right since.
