Howdy all, and thanks much for a great forum!

Here's my first attempt at holster making, I used one of Will's patterns.  I'm pretty happy with it, but I'm afraid I'm hooked now...  ;D

That is great work!
I love the trigger gaurd enclosure--the whole thing fits the gun very nicely.

Good work, pard. Nicely stitched, too. Hooked, for sure. Looking forward to the next one.

Great job. The Dodge City will be my next holster.

Thanks to all for the kind words!  I had originally planned to use olive oil for finishing, but found several posts that said it was hard to keep the leather firm with oil.  I ended up using Eco-Flo Prairie Tan from Tandy.  I like the color, but the high gloss makes it look cheap to me.  Hopefully it will look better after some wear.

Nice job on your first holster.
What weight leather did you use?

Thanks, WC.

It measures .125 thick, which makes it about 8oz as near as I can tell.
