Starr conversion

I wasnt exactly sure where to put this item, but seems to make sense here.  What caliber would this be and would it be center fire or rim fire?

Deadeye,

The two original Starr conversions I have handled, one a double action and the other a single action like the one in the photos, have both been chambered for .44 Colt.  According to MacDonald's book, I believe that was the most common caliber for Starr conversions.
