 :o

All told I have had eight single action revolvers, seven have been Rugers, so you can see where my preferences lay.

I am currently campaigning with a pair of Stainless 45 New Model Vaqueros and really like them.

I am about to convert to Classic Cowboy and shoot Black Powder and I want to have the rifle and handguns in the same calibre for simplicity. I like the 44/40 and am going over to an 1873 Uberti and two Colt clones, all in 44/40.

The 45 Cowboy is a viable option in the States, but is not available out here and it would involve importing a set of reamers, etc. besides there are no 1873s in the country it seems in 45 at the moment.

So we will see how they go. They have all been competition prepped, timed, etc.

Now all I gotta do is be patient while I wait for the 28 day cooling off period (heck, I must have nearly 70 rifles and shotguns and 17 or so handguns, I'm cooled off believe me! ) and the permits which should arrive a week or two later.
All my cowboy gun's calibres start with a 4! It's gotta be big bore and whomp some!

And, not one of those 70 are pump shotguns.  What did you have to do with all those prohibited repeaters?  Like Win '97s?

Where does the Win '87 fit in?  Is it legal?

All that gun "control" achieves is to disarm the loyal, hardworking , citizen.  It seems our governments don't trust us!  Why Not?

Yep! had to hand in my old Wingmaster,  :( kinda sad day, my youngest son plugged a crow when he was about 8yrs old, he was as proud as punch and so was I  ;D.

Not allowed to have semi auto rifles (even 22s) or shotguns or pump action shotguns. They apparently didn't know about pump action rifles and lever action shotguns, as they are still ok. The silly part is I can own a pump action rifle in 300Win mag ( I could even rebarrel it to a 338 or a 458WM if I wanted to), but own a 22 semi auto? No way Hosay!

As far as pistols go, 4"moin bbl in revolvers, 4 3/4" min bbl in autos, nothing over 38, except for competition in silouette or cowboy action.

The autos and pumps that were banned are still available for farmers and people that cull feral game, but they have to jump through some hoops.

I have written a bit of a speil about ht laws, etc, I will email it to you (or anyone else thats interested) if you like, PM me with your email address.

Durn good to see you back, it's funny how we wax and wane with our lives, something comes up and we are in the wilderness again. Excuse typos, can't find my glasses, I see ok, but the small print is a ita.
