Ok when I set up my press the sizeing die was a bit stiff but not a big deal.  So last night I was "preping" and I lubed the cases properly and not a single one would go the whole way in ???  I am completely clueless on this I rechecked to see if everything was set right and it was but the case will not go all the way in.  I checked to be sure the decaping pin was not the problem and it was not.  It seems like the case is binding on the die.  Whay is this what has happened since the other day when I set it up?

Sorry its lyman dies for 50-90 sharps starline brass never fired new, and one shot spray lube.  It worked fine for 2 "dummt" rounds I made the other night but now I cant get the last quarted inch in the die.

seems like I have found the problem, My reloading friends at THE HIGH ROAD say one shot is a fairly useless lube for rifle cases.  I need to find something else.

Been using the stuff for years, I like it, don't think that is your problem esp with new brass.  If the stuff ain't any good why haven't I had problems with it? ???  Sounds to me like your friend just likes a different product. ;)

I called lyman today he sugested a diffrent lube also, When I loaded 45-70 I just used wd-40, but that was in lee dies.  I am going to also try polishing the inside of the sizing die just to see what effect I get.

For what it's worth, I've used one shot for several years and haven't had any problems with it. I like it.  :)

Maybe whatever you lubed with on the setup gunked up the die ans is not letting the cases in. Try examining/cleaning the die.
Worth a look, if you haven't already done it.

If your not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space.

I have used Hornady One Shot spray lube for years on 44-40 with no problems. When I started loading 45-70 I found I needed to spray on more lube than I had been using for 44-40. For some reason the light application I have always used with 44-40 is not enough for my 45-70 cases. Without enough lube, they tend to be very stubborn going into the die, similar to what you mention.

When you say 'one shot' do you mean Hornady One Shot spray lube? Hornady makes two different 'one shot' spray lubes. The stuff in the red can is for cases. The stuff in the other color can is for lubing the moving parts of a press, like the ram.
That's bad business! How long do you think I'd stay in operation if it cost me money every time I pulled a job? If he'd pay me that much to stop robbing him, I'd stop robbing him.

Ya probably inherited every penny ya got!

Some many years back, I went to the drug store/apothecary and purchased a wide mouth bottle of lanolin.  I put a little on my fingers and rub it on the case before running it up inside the sizing die.  The stuff has worked for any and all cases I've loaded and they are many.

Also, the stuff keeps my hands nice and soft.

I'm pretty sure that the lanolin is not brand specific in efficacy.

I'd say that if a new, lubed, ufired case will not go properly in a die, there is something very wrong and it ain't the lube used.  Don't know what it is, but I sure would be looking a things besides the lube.

ok it is the one shot in the red can for cases.  Moving on, I tried a diffrent spary lube and it did ok then I took the die and some polishing compoung with my drill press and did a polish job and that did the most for me.  it does ok now if I work slowlt and apply gradual pressure instead of the usual quick rythem I have used in the past.  Problem solved thanks folks.

And just to let every one know I loaded 47 yesterday but did not shoot because of unexpected weather.  I am getting 93 grains of ffg with a slight compression, a .030 over powder card and a grease cookie(I forget the thickness of it but it is thick) then the 530 grain flat nose lead.
