I have the honor to report that I returned from furlough late last night.  When time permits I will report on two military museums I visited.

A brief survey of my inbox and of the active topics listed in The Barracks shows me that I have some catching up to do over the next few days.

Thanks to Bvt Col Pitspitr for his service as Acting Commander during my absence.

Thanks also to Bvt Col Bull Schmitt for taking care of the some of the administrative details while I was gone.  Now that the GAF has become famous, at least in SASS, we're getting quite a few inquiries via the GAF website.

I see new recruits continue to report in for duty.  No doubt Bvt Lt Col Eagle Eyes Jefferson is wondering why he ever volunteered to be the GAF Recruiting Officer, but the GAF is fortunate that he did.  We haven't had this high a volume of enlistments since the GAF was formed, so please have patience with him if he doesn't get the new enlistments posted right away.

Welcome back, Sir!

Did you take any photos at the Museums? (If allowed)

For the most part, no.  Non-flash photos were allowed but mine refused to cooperate and stay off when I turned it off.   Consequently, I stopped taking photos after the second or third time the flash came back on unexpectedly.

Glad you are back Scout!  I hope this trip was considerably more fun than some of your other overseas adventures.  Do you know what time it is yet? ;D  That's my least-favorite part........

Welcome back, Sir!  Hope your journey was both pleasant and uneventful!

Wish to report that I had a VERY successful sortie with our cavalry against the "hostiles" last week, sir...two "warchiefs" wounded and captured!

Your Scout out on the far reaches of the Frontier,
Jake

Good Morning Sir,

Glad you are back!! I trust you had a good visit and we look forward to the report on the 2 excursions you went on. I am glad to serve as the GAF Enlistment Officer and while it has been quite busy, I am enjoying the position. I have posted the recruits that joined this weekend as of 03/22/08. I am in the process of making departmental rosters with the help of Col. Bull Schmit to distribute to the department commanders. Once this is dione I will send quarterly updates to them and will send information sooner if warranted. Col. Pitspitr did an excellent job while you were away.

Your humble and obedient servant,

Eagle Eyes Jefferson
