i just aquired a conversion cylinder in 45 lc it is a kirst and its a pietta. ok when i cock the gun it all lines up good, but when i uncock it the bolt drops and the cylinder turns backwards slightly .enough that working the hammer will not correct it please help. it works fine with the percussion cylinder,is the bolt to wide for the conversion. how do i fix. ???

Rusty,
Just in case you're interested, here's a thread over on The High Road where a pard had the  same problem, and fixed it by taking a little off the width of the hands tip........

Just curious, was it the bolt you filed,....or the hand?

Most issues I've had with timing these are with the hand (length and shape). Usually don't have to touch the bolt, but make sure its spring is strong (and not hanging up on anything). Sounds like your bolt is not staying up as hammer drops. Check the spring and also check to see if there are any burrs on the bolt fingers or the lower part of hammer. I had one do as you mention. Found that the last person who assembled the gun used the wrong size screw on the bolt/trigger spring (didn't have enough tension to keep the hammer from moving it as it fell).
Smoke em if ya got em.

i filed alittle on the hand first and it didnt help. i took the bolt and laid it in to the grove on the cylinder and it wouldnt quite fit . i noticed by working the hammer with my finger on the bolt that if the bolt didnt rise all the way then when the gun was uncocked the bolt would fall.so i filed it by hand until it was tight  in the cylinder, then reassembeled and now it works fine no play at all,and very very little with c&b cylinder no more than it had to begin with. and skinny preach i just bought this from you :D

Good deal, sometimes these boogers can be difficult to install. The best I've seen are the ones for the Ruger Old Army. They drop right in.

i didnt mean it mean hoof i was just saying. :o im going to the range to shoot it as we speak.

:D ;D really good shooting today out of the new conversion shoots better than the c&b . 5 out of 5 8 inch steel plates at 25 yard with it 3 out of six with c&b. gotta a lot of attention at the range with it too. :P
