I just ordered a rig to carry a SAA from mernickle Holsters. I don't have the $225 USFA wants for a .45ACP cylinder so I'm looking for a .45 Colt CCW Load, anybody got one please?

Here is the rig.....

I used the Speer 200HP (flyin' ashtray) ahead of 6.5grs. of Red Dot.  CCI used to have the same bullet in front of a similar loading in their Lawman ammo line.  Check your department's policy on handloads for off-duty/concealed carry use.

I use a Ruger 45 Birdshead with a Bisley hammer.  I stick with factory loads figuring it would be easier to defend should I ever shoot someone.  Speer 260 Gold Dot ammo is a handfull in the little gun so I generally use Win. Silver Tips...good expansion and easier to control.

Stick with factory loads. I like Win 225gr silvertips in my Sheriffs model.
