I just received my New Vaquero today and I have a question.  While slowely pulling the hammer to check the timing, I noticed the cylinder latch engages the cylinder well before the cylinder notch is rotated near the cylinder latch.  I can tell it won't take long to score the cylinder.  Is this normal, or is the timing horribly off?  I have a Uberti Cattleman and the cylinder latch engages at the proper time.  Thanks, Ryan

Hello SFC

This is normal for Ruger, it's just the nature of the beast, you can fix this by calling Wes Flowers or e- mule him, I bought the parts from him and fixed my own, but you can send your gun to him and he'll do a great job for ya. Wes has been ill, but I here he is back on the job now, so give him a ring , or just don't worry about it, it's not going to hurt anything. ??? ::) :o ;D

Yep, "Ring around the Ruger" is normal.  Not pretty, but normal.  Rugers come with it at "no extra charge."  It can be fixed but it isn't necessary to do so unless you just don't want the ring.

That ring is just sign that you're married to the gun!   ;D
