Went to the range today and shot a few of my cowboy guns.  My Puma M-92 again was a great rifle to fire.  I was shooting Great Basin cartridges and they were 160 and 200 grain at 25 yards.  Strangely(to me at least) The 160 grain had a stronger kick and was less accurate.  With the 200 grain I was able to put 10 rounds within a 2.5 in grouping.  The 160 grain was all over the place.  And with the 160 I had some feed problems but again no worries with the 200.  Any ideas on that?

Same with my pistols except for my favorite, a Uberti 5.5 inch Cattleman in SS.  Man that is a fine pistol.  Even at 25 yards I can at least get in the black of the target though not with the best grouping in the world.

Took mine out to the range today also! It's supposed to be the last nice day for a while, so I took advantage of the weather. The Puma and Heritage Big Bore in 45LC both are just fabulous! If I wasn't already married, I'd propose to the Heritage . . . but I guess for now I'll just carry on the illicit affair? I'm amazed how well it shoots and how impressive it makes me look! I haven't shot that well since I bought a new Ruger Redhawk 44magnum with 7-1/2 inch barrel about 20 years ago. The Heritage that I have is one of those "just works perfect out of the box" type guns.

Also shot my new Uberti Cattleman using both 357's and 38 specials. It was the first time that I've fired it, and it has a whole different feel than the Heritage. I hadn't expected that at all. There was something different about the "feel" when I cocked the hammer. Anyone else had experience with that?

I really like the 45LC rounds, but they're just getting so darn expensive. When a local shop had an offer I couldn't refuse on the Uberti's, I decided to go with the 357/38 caliber.

Just being out there shooting makes me want to hit the stages this instant!

The Rossi/EMF/Puma '92s can be finicky with the overall length. As far as the 160 accuracy and kick, sounds like a bad load combination.

went to the range today, (sunny and 70 finally) i shot my puma 92 and my taurus gaucho's 45 colt. I was shooting 200, and 250 grain in all the guns and my puma and the taurus's seem to like the 250 grain. the puma shot the black out of the target at 25 yards, the pistols shot about 1 inch low and 1/2 inch right off the bench. I was surprised that i could almost duplicate my groups offhand. The factory ammo that shot best for me was the winchester cowboy loads. I bought a lee 1000 reloader, right now i'm burning up some factory loads for practice.   mb
