Slim, All of our Court Houses have metal detectors maned by armed officers untul the buildings close at 6pm.  We have a separate division at the Sheriff's Office for Court Security.

I'm thinking higher populated counties are seeing a need for it. Waushara and Marquette Counties' populations are around 20,000.

No sn*w yet. 'Tis 28 and overcast. High of 31.

Winnebago County IT Dept left a msg yesterday asking if I was still interested in the position. I interviewed with them in January and received a rejection letter in February. I'll call 'em after 8 AM this morning to see what is going on.

Mornin', folks.

L'il chilly out. Clear as a bell. Kill the housewife werk then run errands. Last peaceful day for awhile. Wimmen are on spring break startin' tomorrow.

Don't remember the last time I went into a court buildin' without medal detectors. The Sheriff's Office runs the stuff. Last time I went to court in the beach I was escorted around the detector to a locker room, locked the pistol up. Went to court (daughters had to go to get their drivers licenses with a parent) back to the metal detector to be escorted to the locker so I could get it back.

Heheheh... Glad they didn't wand me. The all stainless Smith I had would have caused a hernia in the circuitry.

thanks fer the coffee

44 and the suns up bright and clear.  supposed to get up aroung 70,  looks like it'll be Easter Sunday before we get any more precipitation, calling fer rain then.

our 2 closest courthouses, Johnson and Franklin counties don't have any detectors on them,  less than 25,000 population,  the only time ya see a Deputy is on days they have court.  which doesn't seem too often.

I'll agree  with ya on the Salsa,  had me a dose last night, we had pinto beans and cornbread,  a little salsa stirred in there is sure good in them beans. ;D
We done it for Dixie,  nothing else

Mornin' everybody!!! Hope yall don't mind me jumping in here but it seems you guys have all the fun and good vittles too!! Slim, we've got metal detectors, the walk-thru kind. They're manned by deputies while the building is open. Arcey, as long as you got a badge to show 'em, they let you keep it and walk on through. I would hate to be in court without mine.

Anyways, thanks for the conversation and Pony Racer, you do have the best breakfast going'!!

Thanks for the concern, Tex. I think........

That was PB, EEJ. On business they did the walk-around then I went where I had to go. Took the girls five years apart with business between. Reckon it's been their policy fer along time.

Mornin' all. Currently 30 here, partly cloudy. Winter advisory up here now, looking for 3-5 inches tonight. That breakfast sounded good.
Arcey, They've got detectors at our Courthouse manned by the Sheriff's office. they're also at the Federal Building here in town as well. Haven't had much cause to go in either over the years, but have gone through them a couple times........Buck 8) ::)
I might be slow, but I'm mostly accurate.....

Mornin' Fellas,

Welcome to the fire EEJ.

Thanks for the Coffee, grub and motivation to go to the gym  ;D

Oh and sorry I did laugh at the question regarding dectors in our court houses. I know they still have places with out them but I haven't been there yet. Have a friend who used to work in Placer County courts. Wow the things that happen up there. You would think it's a big city or something.

Leo my sis is in Foresthill. You are further up the mountain but probably get some similar weather.

Looks to be a beautiful day here. Y'all have a good one and stay safe out there.

Good mid-mornin all.

Metal detectors at the court house started up here after 9/11--still have em.  I was livin in Mizzu at the time an security was real tight.  They don't have a DMV there, ya do all yer car an licence buisiness with the tax department.  I went to register a vehicle around that time and they had us all stand in line outside for wanding.  An envelope full of anthrax had shown up at the KC post office (the old one with a million steps goin up) an all goverment buildings were under strict contol.  Schools too.  I don't recall anyone being too put out what with all that had happened.

Scarlet, Forest Hill is a great place.  The Ore Cart is one of my favorite places to eat whenever I can get out that way.  Crossing that bridge (you know the one) is an experience in it's self  :o

In CA they want ya to have a safe when ya buy a hand gun.  If ya tell em ya don't have one, they ask if ya have a lock an if so you must have a receipt proving that it was bought within the last 60 days (I guess so that yer not using a lock that is intended for another gun in the home).  I just buy one right there an everything is square.
