I just read in the National Speed Sport News that Newman is the odd man out at Stewart-Haas Racing. harvick is replacing him and will drive #4, sponsored by Budweiser.

just snagged this gem out of comcast

Johnson (referring to Jimmy) will actually start behind 71-year-old Morgan Shepherd. Shepherd will become the oldest driver to start a NASCAR Sprint Cup race.

Shepherd, who went only 128.290 in qualifying, made his Cup debut in 1970 and won four times in NASCAR's top series. He finished as high as fifth in the final standings in 1990 and hasn't started a race since 2006.

Four-time Cup champion Jeff Gordon had no problem with Shepherd competing on Sunday.

``I think that's quite an accomplishment,'' Gordon said. ``We talk about how amazing it is to see Mark Martin out there being competitive over 50 years old, but to just go out there and do what he does as far as Morgan is concerned at 71, that's amazing.''

Morgan has been racing in the Nationwide series, lately.  James Hylton, who is older than Sheppard, has been racing in the ARCA series.

AH HA! Knaus done been caught with his front wing too low, the thief lovin' cheater! Move Johnson to the back.

Good deal for Shepherd. Depending on the split with old man Keselowski he'll make more on this start than he has all year runnin' his own stuff in the minor league.

On 'nother note, the finish yestitty made an otherwise borin' race kinda decent. Without NASCAR tryin' ta manipulate things with ServiceMaster Clean® cautions for phantom debris.

Can Phantom debris cause Phantom wrecks?

Only the Phantom knows for sure........................................

Damned if I ain't thrilled for Vickers 'n MWR.

Amusingly ironic. The ServiceMaster Clean® cautions that started the end of Steward's bid to luck into a win were over screw ups by 'his' employees. Perfect.

I hope this victory insures he will have the 55 ride for next year. That car is competitive with whom ever is driving it.

So do I.

Ain't thinkin' Waltrip, personally, is real high on anyone's list of favorites. That said, the clown has surrounded himself with some pretty good people, Ty Norris for one.

MWR has gone from a joke, losing sponsors 'n in danger of losing others, cars that were just as likely to load up 'n go home after qualifyin' as racin', to contenders. The 55 'n 56 with wins 'n the 15 second in points this season ain't too shabby.

Lookin' like they've disposed of Childress 'n they're holdin' their own against Penske 'n Roush.

Ain't much for dirt stuff. That said I don't remember bein' this up for a race in a good while as I am for the truck thing this evenin'. Heat races 'n such. No idea what the set ups are gonna look like. Buncha folks wantin' some kinda bad ta go for the first win on dirt in a tourin' series event in forty years. This thing could be a knock-down-drag-out-take-no-prisoners the likes of which are rarely seen.

Weather forecast for Ohio looks awful nice for racin' 'n the fans. Fantastic!

I grew up watching sprints, supper modifiers, and stockers on the quarter mile dirt track, the Amarillo  Speedbowl. We owned a sprint car in the early 50s.

Barely remember Chinese Corner. Pret good of Moyock 'n Richmond in dirt. Remember when both were paved. N'er saw Langley in dirt.

Was expectin' a bit more from the past evenin'. Thinkin' the 'ringer' fans were too. Still, I've seen far worse.
