Certainly could be. They're screwed now. NASCAR doesn't care why. They'll accept no excuses. If you present a car for inspection 'n it ain't right, it ain't right. NASCAR already has it for testin' on their R&D shop. I'm guessin' no one from DEI will ever see it again.

Rumors again. Truex is makin' noises he wants to be released. Speculation is if he does Bass Pro Shop goes with him. Army may be snatchin' their sponsorship of the 8. Martin is gone from their line up next season. Menard is talkin' with Roush 'n Yates. If he jumps ship Daddy John 'n Menard's Home Improvement goes with him. Things kindah could be dark for DEI.

Figgered this would happen if Junior left.

Sounds like DEI was using the #1 car as a guinea pig for the tech boys to see if they could sneak the car by the inspectors.

It certainly smells like that Tex.
DEI rolled the bones an lost.  Who knows how many others have slipped under the radar.  But as Arcey said, they shoulda had somethin viable fer him ta drive when the excarment hit the fan.

.....'n that begs the question. Why Truex 'n the 1? That's their only shot at makin' the chase. A point penalty is comin'. It's gonna do all but kill those chances. If yer gonna take a chance 'n ya got four cars, why not do it with the 01? That teams in jeopardy of bein' shut down for next season anyway.

Hard time believin' they'd pull this stunt. They're supposed ta be pros thinkin' this crap out.

I don't think that they wanna admit how much it hurt the operation when Little E left.

I watched the last 30 laps of th NNS at Daytona. That 20 car seems to be unbeatable once it gets the lead, no matter who's drivin' it. MM is drivin' for HMS for the next 2 years. I wish him the best, he deserves to win a championship. This is probaly his last and best chance to do it.

What amazes me about the whole thing is Dave Rogers' ability on the box.  Don't know that I could put up with the egos of Busch, Hamlin 'n Stewart then turn right around 'n work with a rookie in the person of Logano. Learn to interpret the driver input of four different ones, make the right adjustments 'n pit calls.

Damn. Win 9 of 11. Unheard of these days. May have been 10 had Keselowski 'n Earnhardt not smacked it in the hind end, twice, under caution at Charlotte knockin' it outtah whack. Still finished second.

The Chevy teams in NNS say that the TOYO's are makin about 15 more horses than the small block chevy.  They want NNS to let them go to the new chevy engine to be more competative. This might put things on a more level playing field. That 20 car is almost "bullet-proof".

Listened to Hendrick whine over the horsepower. He ain't forgot how to whine like he did over spoiler differences before common templates. Guess he longs for the days of havin' a horse power advantage hisownself. No more can be expected out of a thief 'n a liar.

Then they talk to his new main man, Junior. He cited the JGR hard work on aero 'n their cars ability to out run the field on old tires as the key. Said he had the fastest car but it wouldn't hold on a long run. Looks like they didn't get their stories straight before the reporters got to 'em. Then again I've never seen Junior as a liar.

Funny 'nuff I almost lost my beer.

The lack of HP in the NNS and the fact they haven't got the COT figured out. I think Hendrick is frustrated that his cars are not consistant or dominat right now.

Wonder what happened. HMS had the car figgered out last season. He ain't doin' nothin' but echoin' the party line 'n usin' the media ta lobby NASCAR. His folks are gettin' out worked in the shop 'n his drivers are gettin' out driven on the track. We'll hafta disagree, my friend.

On 'nother subject - I'll just, heh, heh, go head 'n concede ta the 'experts'. NASCAR drivers 'n NASCAR in general, is inferior to the greats of open wheel racin'.

One of 'em this afternoon lost it out of the pit stall, ran into another's pit stall with crew still over the wall, hit's a tire layin' in the pit stall (safety hazard, illegal in NASCAR) front end of the car flies in the air 'n the wing breaks off when the car hits the ground.

The driver? The one, the only, the greatest, the history makin', beautiful, captivating godaddy.com girl – Danica. Reckon that goes with her collection of three similar pit road accidents last season.

Hope to see some more of them open wheel thingys this season. They're funny as all heck.

I like the open wheel racing on dirt tracks.  The WOO, Silver Crown, Midgets, IMCA, and Late Models.

Barely remember dirt. Moyock 'n Richmond. I don't remember Chinese Corner at all. I know I was there 'cus they told me so. There's dirt track on 17 I drive by on the way to my daughter's place. Looks like it's very neat 'n well maintained but I ain't never been. There was another on 58 that went belly up.

Reckon 'round here we're just as snobbish in a way as anyone else is. Folks my age 'n younger grew up watchin' full bodied cars on pavement. Don't like the winged things. Never get ta see the Silver Crown stuff. Ain't seen midgets since they ran 'em inside Scope or the Coliseum, that was fun. I don't know what IMCA is.

The thing Stewart did for charity, that I so appreciate, I don't understand the need of a body. Kindah dumb lookin'. The rumors, six, eight weeks ahead said he was tired of losin' his race 'n he wouldn't this year cuz his car wouldn't be legal. Sure looked that way from what I saw of the free replay. Was doin' paperwork while it was on. Turned it off when I finished the paperwork.

The irl is a joke. Their drivers aren't the best. The leadership is incompetent. Without the Indianapolis race 'n Patrick for the media ta hype they're a memory. Short fields, short races, short schedule. short live attendance 'n next to no TV ratings. NASCAR publishes their figures, the irl doesn't. I will admit I get a lot of chuckles watchin'. Folks complain the stock cars all look the same. In irl they are the same. All they can do is tune the kit they put together. Can't even open the crate motors they get.

Back when I was a kid, I loved 'Indy'. Make it fast as you can 'n bring it on. Them days are gone.

This is all just me. Don't make it right. Want all race folks to enjoy their choice.

Arcey, IMCA is a modified series. They may not have them in VA. It's big out here. The cars are sorta like Late Models without the front part of the body. They kinda remind me of the old super modifieds of the 60s. Tube chassis witha SB Chevy.  I heard a quote by Boyer after the NNS race. He said a monkey could win driving the 20 car.

Ozark Tracker

They have a 1/2 mile dirt track up at Ft. Smith,  every Saturday night it's packed, dirt tracks are real popular around here,  used to be a 1 mile dirt track over in Muskogee,  they'd run Sprint cars 4 or 5 times a year.  rest of the time it was Modifiieds and what they called hobby stocks,  get ya a late 60's or 70's model car pop out the windows put in a screen, strip out the insides and add a bucket seat and roll bars,   there would be at least a 60 of em every Friday night.   it was a real popular class.
We done it for Dixie,  nothing else

We had the sprints.  390 I believe, then they added a 410 class.  It was a big deal, the 410's.  Moved away from the area just in time ta find they had banned em from the fairgrounds up here.  Used ta like ta sit close enough that dirt would would end up in yer beer if ya didn't keep yer hand over it.
The "tough trucks" were fun too.  Ametures runnin what they brung out on the dirt field.  Can't remember what the prize was, but those guys sure punished themselves and there rides fer it.  I'm sure that's banned now too.  Best we got now is "Fast Fridays" where guys run old 2 stroke Bultaco motorcycles with no brakes on the dirt.  It's only 5 bucks ta get in an yer actualy there.  Somethin about that beats TV 1000 ta 1 ;)

Sounds like the enduro stuff they used to do at Langley. Run 'em 'til one was still runnin'. Leave the wrecked ones on the track.

Bowyer swiped the monkey line from Jack Roush. 20 or no 20, Bowyer is first in NNS points by a bundle. Followed by another Chevrolet then a Ford before ya get to the first Toyota. The 20 leads in owners' points as did the 29 last year at this time. No one was whinin' about Chevrolet horsepower.

The season is at half way. Kyle Busch stands with five wins 'n the point lead. Half way to Johnson's ten wins 'n championship last season. No one was whinin' about Chevrolet horsepower over that either.

I'll hold JGR is out workin' 'em. His Toyotas are winnin'. If they had such a horsepower advantage there's enough on the track they should be at least half of the top ten every week. They ain't.

JGR is the class of the Toyo's, they beating everyone, including other Toyo teams. The Red Bull team making progress to catch up.  The Toyo trucks are dominant in the Craftsman series.  Davis is the dominant Toyo truck team.  Toyota is using all it's tech support for the teams moreso than Chevy.  The bar has been raised by Toyota.

Boys, I fouled up. Went lookin' for news on the 1 'n saw the mistake. Kyle Busch has six wins this year. There goes my credibility.........

One of the issues mentioned by JGR in the switch was a lack of a technology flow from GM to his team. Whether it was perception or reality there was a sense it wasn't happenin'.

They went from third string GM to first string Toyota. When Daytona rolled 'round last February 'n things were lookin' bad for MWR makin' the race, JGR sent their best front end tech to Waltrip to set 'em up. All three made it in. I think stuff like that, cooperation between all of 'em, is startin' to pay off. No significant horsepower advantage. No magic. Sweat 'n blood.
