Can't take it away from Harvick. He ain't got many left in him. Shame for Montoya. The boy can't buy a break.

Passenger's door tied shut on the 31. Looks like it worked pretty good despite the hinges tryin' ta let go. Miracle more of 'em didn't get killed back then.

An old guy once told me the very short crowed tracks and the fact those stock flatties really wern't that fast kinda saved a lot of their arses because the speeds were not realy that fast.

We had a lot of fun on Sat. night at the old Amarillo Speedbowl, a quarter-mile dirt track. STOCK CARS and Super Modifiers.

There were Late Models 'n Modified here. Before NASCAR took over everything. The rules were more or less local 'n the two don't relate much to the same thing today.

Remember a l'il bit of Chinese Corner. Where it was is just a couple miles from me on the way to the Toyota store. Sat at Virginia Beach Blvd. 'n Witchduck Rd. School system owns the property now. They got a reform school sorta thing on it.

Grew up almost smack in the middle of Norfolk 'n when they'd lug me along it seemed soooooooooooooooooooooooo far out in the middle of nowhere. Were no Virginia Beach as a sovereign city, it was Princess Anne County. VBBlvd. was two lanes, paved. Eight now with a median. I avoid it whenever I can.

Thinkin' back I can't remember if we had one in the club, don't think we did. Someone had a very nice Lancer always lookin' like it had just been prepped for customer delivery by Royal's Tidewater Dodge in May of '65 'n that was about as close as it got.
