My oh my.......

NASCAR told 'em not ta screw with the body specs. Told 'em the penalties would escalate. Reckon Haas-CNC didn't take it seriously. Got caught with a wing mount issue on their 66 'n 70 cars. The cars were seized by NASCAR. Haas-CNC will take it seriously now.

150 driver's and car owner's point penalty for each car. $100K fine to the car owners. Stiffest in a long, long time.

Crew chiefs AND car chiefs fined $100K each 'n suspended 'til July 9th. The suspension of a car chief is unprecedented.

The entire car(s) are now the property of NASCAR. Don't remember 'em ever confiscating a whole car.

Gene Haas is filthy rich. Even from federal prison he'll probably eat the fines for his employees. But the loss of the cars 'n points is huge.

Booty Barker, crew chief for the 70, is livid. Seems they slipped it past NASCAR Tech only to be ratted out by another team.

Arcey, what is the $$$ value on one car used in those races?

Brand new, fresh outtah the fab shop, no drive train or electronics, 'round a hundred grand. That's ta start with.

The big cost is fittin' 'em out, testin' 'em then gettin' two to the race track. A primary ya intend ta race 'n a back up in case the primary is tore up in practice or qualifyin'. Ya lose one ready ta go 'n the cost in time 'n man-hours ta replace it, I couldn't tell ya.

I'd offer a quarter of a million ta be a fair estimate for the final product.

Suspect that's why the the folks at the top want 20 million these days for a primary sponsorship.

They say that changing over to the COT will be cheaper for the teams. That has yet to be proven to me.

The statements been attributed to both Yates 'n Childress. Said they were gonna go broke if NASCAR keeps on savin' 'em money.

Now, they've about finished the Nationwide prototype of the CoT. Earnhardt looked at it 'n said he'll change his JR Motorsports operation over to cup. Won't cost any more 'n there's a lot more money in cup even for a field filler. Suspect smaller teams will do the same or shut down. NASCAR is stranglin' that series. Maybe it's on purpose. Sad.

Said it before, kill it outright. Put the effort in trucks. But as long as they're puttin' thirty ta fifty thousand butts in the seats 'n pullin' in three or four million TV watchers they'll run the little guys outtah business.

Really enjoy the trucks. They don't play nice.

Lottah folks down on Lia for puntin' Starr for the win last week. Just life the way it is in trucks.

Never have seen a good reason for 'em takin' the trucks outtah Richmond. Fans 'n teams love the place. Good crowds 'n good racin'.

Starr is from Texas. At one time he was one of the driving instructors at Texas Motor Speedway.

Willd Thing looked pretty good today.  Roush won second, third and fourth. Wonder Wimp won fifth and he was lucky to get that.

Hope sumbody slaps Vickers. A top ten, maybe a top five car for a team that needs it bad 'n he gets caught TWICE for speed.

Hate ta be the bearer, boys.

Back in the day we din't get much NASCAR racin' on TV. When we did we saw Jim McKay. On the old Wide World of Sports he could make a game of tiddly-winks seem interestin'

He passed today at 86. Rest In Peace, Jim McKay.

That's a shame.
I miss WWS.  Sunday is just not a Sunday without hearin that music and watch that skier eat it on the downhill.  Jim McKay was great, I remember him covering the yearly lumberjack competion.

Back in the olden days, live coverage of auto racing was unheard of.  If you didn't go to the Indy 500, the only way was to listen to on the radio(AM).  In 1979 when CBS aired the Daytona 500, that was the first. Now, thanks to ESPN we can watch most auto races live. It's hard to believe that Jim McKay was that old.
