IT'S TIME FOR THE 2nd ANNUAL GRAND ARMY OF THE FRONTIER (GAF) KANSAS STATE CHAMPIONSHIP SHOOT!!

YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER FOR THIS SHOOT so that we can be sure to have enough food for everyone.  DEADLINE IS MARCH 14 - $35.00.  Lunch on Saturday and Sunday is included in the registration cost.  No frill - ie no name tags, etc   MEDALS WILL BE GIVEN FOR FIRST PLACE IN EACH CATEGORY WITH CERTIFICATES FOR 2ND AND 3RD PLACE.  SEND YOUR REGISTRATION NOW!!

We will shoot this match with ONE PISTOL AND ONE RIFLE as the frontier military seldom carried more firearms.  We MAY shoot another gun or two, and if we do, these guns and the related ammo will be provided.  SO...that will significantly lighten your load!  AND....there will still be plenty of shooting.
Scenarios will reflect frontier military/Indian skirmishes from Kansas history that occurred between 1858 and 1899.  Any SASS or NCOWS legal pistol caliber weapons of that time period are allowed, bring 'em on!

We will reload the pistol with a maximum of 5 rounds on 4 stages AND we will reload the rifle with a maximum of 7 rounds on 4 stages.  BRING PLENTY OF AMMO – about 90 rounds rifle and 60 rounds pistol.  Better bring extra in case you drop some on the last stage!  This will be good practice reloading on the clock!

To properly set the ambience, we will shoot in SQUADS instead of posses.  This shoot is a scaled down version of the National GAF Muster. TARGET SIZE AND DISTANCES WILL VARY – some big and up close and some a bit smaller and further out.  We will use NCOWS (just like the GAF Muster) rule of 10-second penalties for misses.  Accuracy counts!

Hope to see you all at the Kansas GAF Championship!

If you would like registration information emailed to you, please send your email address to newton2 at kansas dot net and request a registration for the GAF shoot.

Trap, Haymaker and all - we're sorry you won't be shooting with us.  Easter and the shoot falling on the same weekend has made it tough.  We've got about 30 shooters registered to go, weather is looking pretty good, stages will be set up this afternoon!  Lunches are finalized, medals should be ready for pick up.  We'll be hearing the bang (and clang of course) tomorrow at the range!  I'll take pictures so you can see what you missed.   ;D

Next year, we should be in the clear of holidays - 4th weekend of March 2009 - mark your calendars!
