General, I have dealt with Larry/Gripmaker. Fast service and a quality product. I bought the Stag grips for my 1875. One thing about grips - they ain't a standard size from gun to gun. That's pretty good customer service, if you ask me - specially at his prices. (My Stag were $70, if I remember.)

I have NO explanation why MY Uberti 1875 gripframe is so different than any other Uberti 1875 - except that mine is an old, 4 digit serial#, so they may have changed the design since when they introduced them in the early 1970s. I know of ONE change they made, and I'll forever wonder why - the ORIGINAL Uberti Remingtons had the cylinder pin release out on the end of the ejector tube LIKE THE ORIGINAL design. I suppose they made the change because the cross-pin release is a BIT more convenient. Bah-humbug!

As a side note, I haven't yet done the grip tracing of my gun yet, so I don't yet have a happy ending to my tale, but I thought I'd include this as a "testimonial." I've seen the Wildlife site and their grips look very good, too - especially for the price.

Curley Cole, you are absolutely right my friend & I do apologize. I thought for sure I mentioned the 58' Remmy & had to go back to the original post. This aging in the mind is getting worse for this old soldier, lol.

No apologies needed, I swear every day I think I forget more and more...guess that is why I have so many "new" friends!

Essentially yes, It is what EMF called their "antique" finish..I felt the finish was just off somewhat, so I polished it with a bit of SemiChrome and smoothed it out..I does have a worn look to it. and the grips (the original wood ones) have a distressed look to them, and I don't know if it was intentional or not, but they are slightly under sized in a couple of areas, as if the wood has shrunk. I don't know if I would order them this way (I won them), but I have to say they are quite the attention getters...
They also came with lightened springs and are excellent shooters...

Well, I finally got that pair of white grips I was looking for. Now, all I have to do is decide how I want them to look as far as aging & such so... if anyone has more ideas on this, I will sure be appreciative.

There have been quite a few posts on dyeing the grips, things such as coffee, tea and orange rit dye. You may wish to look them up and make your decisions.
