I originally posted this in the Shooters Meeting forum And was advised to ask the soot lords for help.

Hello I just moved to the area north of Houston, TX  close to Conroe, TX.  I am trying to find a place that carries a decent selection of BP supplies.  Right now I am looking for a brass powder flask that will allow me to use the screw on pour spouts 10gr, 15gr, 20gr, 30gr.  I am also looking for .457 balls if I could find both at the same location it would be great. Anyone have any info?

Thanks

I'd go Dixie Gun Works for the powder flask.  They'd have the balls too, but what are ya usin' .457's in?

Gander Mtn. just off the east side of 45  and south of Cypresswood rd. had some blackpowder stuff . I can look up ph. no. and exact location if ya want it. Also there is a "Carter Country"
on east side of 45 a few miles down the road  and north of the Bush Airport, but would call first. One of the pards I shoot cas matches with, recently posted that he had a bunch of .457 balls and I also have some stashed away, but if need a box let me know. Think I still have a LEE mould for .457 balls too., but short of pure lead at the moment or I'd cast some.

Sorry bout not replying sooner me and the flu did a tango this weekend.  Thanks stepnmud  I passed through Gander Mntn. & their shelves were a little bare.  I think it is the last weekend of black powder up here & I'll pass back thru in a week or so.  I didn't think about Carter Country I'll try them this Friday.  44caliberkid, I picked up a Ruger Old Army and the manual says .457 balls or conicals.  I went to Dixie they have lots of flasks but not the one i'm after I thank u though.  I did bookmark them for future referance.  They have a lot of neat stuff.  Hopefully I can get out this weekend and make some smoke.

Thanks for the help

Check out "thunder-ridge-muzzleloading".  They will have a flask like you are looking for and will probably have some more stuff you might be interested in.

Range Report - I got to make some smoke this weekend this is one fun smoker to shoot.  At 25 yds it shoots to point of aim and with a litte bit of practice I could easily shoot this Ruger OA as well as a modern centerfire pistol.  Cleanup was fairly fast & easy.  I got a couple of looks at the range when my smoker went off.  I was very pleased with the 30 grain load I was shooting, good smoke and load report.  Next time out I might try 35 grains as the manual says you can fill up the cylinder w/ powder as long as you can put the ball in & compress it below the face of the cylinder.  Is there any one who makes an adjustable bullet rammer?  Because at 30 grains I had to use a short piece of wooden dowel to drive the ball all the way on top of the powder.  I need another .375 to .50 at the max to get the ball/powder connection and not have to use the dowel.

Thanks ;D
