I was so looking forward all week to this weekend.  We have two shoots - EC-SASS down Manteo way on Saturday and Mattaponi Sundowners at West Point on Sunday!  More fun than should be legal, right?  Just looked at the weather - them weather guessers say it's supposed to rain in Manteo on Saturday (clear on Sunday) and rain at West Point on Sunday (clear on Saturday).  I'm tellin' ya it just ain't fair!!

Well....I've lived in the Pacific North"wet" my whole life....rain don't even slow me down!  Up here....if we don't do it in the rain.....it don't get done! People who visit here usually complain about the rain.  Our answer for that is:  "Sure it rains a lot here, but look how green everything is!"  We shoot in the rain here!

I ain't so much worried about me when it rains, just my poor guns - cain't have my babies getting wet!  None of mine are stainless. 

Yep, West Point is shooting this weekend because of X-Mas next week.  Look forward to seeing ya there Annie!

Third Sundee is regular for West Point, I don't think they shut down for the winter.

Yep, this is the regular day for their shoot and they don't shut down. I called Flatboat Bob yesterday. Still don't know if I'll make it, so much other stuff to get done.

Well Manteo got rained out too much water on the range.  We'll Try West point tomorrow.

West Point went fairly well.  We were suposed to shoot five stages and then go to dinner @ Nick's.  Because the weather got reall, really cold , the last stage was cancelled and we still went to Nick's.  Had a blast - wish you could have been there.

Sure it is Tensleep, depending on what part of the country you are living in, not cold enough to cancel a shoot, just hope the wind don't start blowing too bad.

It's cold enough to freeze my car shut. I just went out to get the stuff out of it and couldn't get into it. (Yes, Delmonico, it was unlocked.)

Ended up prying around the rear passenger door until I found where the ice was sticking, then chipping at that until I could get that door open. Climbed inside, then contorted myself into the front seat and kicked the driver's door open.

I am just glad that I didn't discover it in the morning as I was getting ready to head to verk.

I still like the snow, though,

My partner and I completed our CCW instruction requirements today, shooting in temps of about 12 degrees with wind chills below zero. couldn't feel the cartridges or trigger by the end of my shooting string............Buck

I bundle up real good, when it's too cold it's ok to let the period correctness slide a little bit, gortex boots, good gloves.  I have a big, black full length oil slicker, many have around here, between that, my hat, gloves and boots I'm good to about 20 below if the wind isn't blowing to bad.

When it's real cold around here we light a fire in the bunkhouse, shoot a stage, warm up, shoot a stage, warm up.....

My secret, now shhhhhhh!  don't tell anyone, I keep hand warmers in my slicker pockets.  Keep your gloves on until it's time to shoot, shoot the stage, run back and get your hands in your slicker to warm up!   

Tensleep, there is a town in Wyoming by that name.  Can't remember where it was between but it got its name by being ten days, or sleeps, by horse back South of where ever, Probably Sheridan, can't remember.  I'm sure someone lives around there and knows the story.

What's it like down your way today cuz?  It was 10 here yesterday wif the wind just a howling.  Snow and ice on the ground and the humidity was a way up there, like it aslways is.  Not supposed to be any better today, except maybe for the wind.
