Have any of you heard of the possibility of Remington sanctioned repro revolvers offered in 2008. Someone commented on this on the Remington Society forum as if it was a done thing, as yet no one has commented on their comment - not unusual as not allot use that forum. Does anyone know anything about this, is it sort of a Colt 3rd gen type deal or is someone blowing hot air on another forum?

There's a lot of talk about USFA making some with the Remington name on them. There's a thread about it. http://www.cascity.com/forumhall/index.php/topic,18502.0.html

Howdy, Pards!
I am a Remington Society member, but, alas, was unable to attend the annual meeting in Las Vegas last weekend! >:(  I talked with another member who did attend, and he said that "Remington" (whatever the current corporate entity bearing that name is) is supposed to be bringing out US-made copies of both the "New Model Army"  (presumably the 1863 incarnation of what everybody likes to call the "M1858") and the M1875 cartridge model.  No mention as to how soon, or the prices, but screw threads are to be English, NOT metric!  I wonder if the '75's will be made in .44-40 or .45 LC????

Now, put that in your rumor mill an' grind it!  ;)
Ride to the sound of the guns, but watch out for bushwhackers! Godspeed to all in harm's way in the defense of Freedom! God Bless America!

Amazing. Thanks for the update. If they are as well made as the 2nd gen Colt blackpowder series it would be a deal indeed.

Here's the press release that USFA released in April 2007 saying that the first two Remington-branded products will be the 1858 percussion and the 1875 in three calibers:

That was almost a year ago. When is it going to happen?

I've been in the market for a 1875 .45 and don't want to make a move until I see their product and prices. I know it will be superior quality, historically accurate, and expesnive. What do you guys think? Is it worth waiting for? I've never owned a USFA pistol.

Yes it is worth waiting for.  However, be advised that the USFA guns will be more expensive than the Uberti made guns.  I think Uberti still makes a fine 1875 as sold by EMF.  I would be willing to bet that the USFA guns will be at least 1K, so if that is too much money for you then you might consider the Uberti made guns.

Outrider, can you post that image larger or at least link the page on the USFA website, please? When I blow up your photo any larger it's too fuzzy to read.  :'(

Better lay off the Jack Daniels for awhile.   ;D

It was on the USFA website but then taken down.  Don't know why.  See if this is better.

Holy moly!! Is anyone going to the Shot Show who can report back as to availability dates and prices?

Marshal Will Wingam

Well, I was holding out getting a pair until USFA released theirs. Now, I think I'll go see which Ubertis I'll get.
