What happened to all the Marlin .357's?

Seems I can never find one in a store.  When I look at Davidson's Gallery of Guns, they are all "allocated".

Are these rifles in such great demand that they're being swiped up?  Or is Marlin slow on making batches?

Anyone know the inside scoop on this?

Could there be a transitional phase going on? I read that Remmington is taking over Marlin and H&R. I saw a couple recently in a store though, but Big 5, who was selling a 94 cheper version hasn't advertised them for a while and they sold all they could get their hands on. I even got one and found that except for the wood, it was the same as all the other CS models.
