::) looking for a 75 outlaw in 45 cal in good to as new condition

Dakota Widowmaker

You and me both... I have a pard who is desperate to get ahold of one.

BIG Remington fan and likes 45lc.

Hate to go to gunbroker, but, nobody seems to be stocking these much anymore...

Hoof Hearted

I'vce got a newer ASM 1875 in 45 Colt (colt style push pin). I'd be willing to trade it for a 44-40 :o

ASM made Remmy '75's?  :o  Are you sure it's not an Uberti?

Old Top

Gentlemen,

I suggest that you give EMF a call I know that they had a few in stock a week ago, and there prices are reasonable.

Old Top
I only shoot to support my reloading habit.

Deadeye Don

I got mine from EMF 6 months ago or so.  After replacing the mongo hand spring with one from VTI, it is a sweet manly gun.  :)

I got mine from Johnny Thundersticks.  Two in 44-40.  If I remember right, they were cheaper from him with the action job than anywhere else stock.  He might just have some 45s!

You are right!
I never really paid a lot of attention and ass-u-me'd that since it was EMF it was an ASM.  :-\

Guys it is a Uberti has the catalog number on the frame. In Great condition! Now it just needs to be swapped for a 44-40 ;D

I USED to have a pair in 45 Colt, but one of my club pards MADE me trade one of them to him for a like-new 2nd Generation, 1st Model Colt Dragoon.

It was neat to have a pair of nearly matched guns that shoot as well as those Uberti - made 75s!  Diversity won out, however.  ;)

Mine were imported by EMF as well.

 :)
Thanks for the help I have one comming from EMF at a lower price than listed,
will be a great Christmas gift to myself.
Now if the weather would clear up and get warmmer so I can get out and shoot, but 6 inches of snow, and sub 30 degree weather makes it hard to stay out very long with I was in the deep South

You might as well plan on getting a lighter mainspring from VTI unless your real name is Mongo.

Glad it worked out for ya!

My blue/case hardened 45 caliber turned itself into a Nickle 44-40 over the weekend!
So it's now officially off the table 8)

Don, do you remember the way mine works - 3.0# trigger pull and such?

My mainsprings must have been made by Mongo way back when he was a 98 lb. weakling ... they're stock!  I have done NOTHING to lighten mine - OR the one Deadeye Dave got!  Just lube and some good trigger grease - the black graphite stuff that comes in the old Outers or Hoppes cleaning kits.

Yes Mongo must have been just a toddler when those were made because man oh man he is a tough hombre now.  I havent been shooting my 75 at matches due to the tough main spring, but now I shall with the lighter spring installed.

I certainly wouldn't want to besmirch Mongo's reputation here!

There IS a possibility that non-standard factory springs are on my 75s, Don.  I am, after all, the 2nd owner.  However, they are UN-modified and look to be the identical stock springs Uberti uses, not the mainspring from another gun.  It would HAVE to be this way, because VTI and their light springs didn't exist when I traded for those Remingtons.  To my knowledge, VTI sells the ONLY lighter mainspring for the 75/90s - I've never seen any advertised by Brownells, Wolff, or Heinie.
(Just because I haven't found any doesn't mean they don't exist,  ;)  I'm just saying that I haven't found or heard of any - and these appear to be factory made, not custom-made by a gunsmith.)

Mongo was still a toddler!  Good one!  :D

Willy,  Just in case you dont know.  EMF distributes the Uberti 1875.  So they are one and the same.  There is no difference except for the EMF address on the barrel.

I had an EMF. Maybe I'll try a Uberti next. :D
